Māori twins make NZ basketball representative side
While basketball is gaining popularity, children as young as eleven are being chosen to represent NZ in the sport. Only two players from each region can be chosen for the NZ under 12s boys team. And as Krystal-lee Brown reports, the Counties Manukau selections are two Māori boys who happen to be twins.

TUHUA - Te Puke High School Camps
Te Puke High School has had the privilege of running an annual Year 10 Camp for the past 26 years on the majestic and mighty Tuhua (Mayor Island). It lies 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Tauranga, New Zealand and covers 13 km2. Thousands of TPHS students have experienced this camp and will have Mike Nitz to thank. His passion and love for Tuhua is second to none and has inspired a generation. The Island, its history and the kaitiaki hold a special place in our hearts.

Winston and his silver tsunami - Simply the Best - Patrick Gower
Ever wondered what a NZ First conference looks like?
Well here's Winston Peters and his silver tsunami - although some of Winston's crew are actually quite young.
They all think he is Simply the Best - so this montage is put to the tune of Simply The Best by Tina Turner.
This is from June 17, 2011.
Patrick Gower put this montage together with editor Sam Arcus.

The Big Blue of Tauranga Moana
Well, I've left the kayak on the wall in the garage to venture further offshore in our local waters to see what is out there. This is all filmed in one day whilst out near Mayor Island, Tauranga. It was an experience that I will NEVER forget. In my opinion, this is the way to see wildlife. In their own natural environment, and on their terms. Keep our oceans alive and healthy, people. And thanks again for watching.

Battle of the Bays intermediate school triathlon
TAUPO Intermediate won the war at the Battle of the Bays triathlon in Gisborne on Friday. Taupo collected the overall school trophy, fending off the challenges of Ilminster and Gisborne Intermediate and a multitude of Bay of Plenty schools in the individual and team event. While Taupo’s triathletes did not win any individual titles, they were prominent in the team racing. They filled all top three places in the Year 8 boys’ division and were first and second in the Y7 boys.
That helped them to 27 points, three ahead of Gisborne Intermediate. The triathlon was run by Ilminster and based at Beacon Reserve. It comprised the same distance for all competitors — a 350-metre ocean swim, 12-kilometre cycle ride and three-kilometre run to the finish line. Local students did the double in the individual boys’ race — Lachie Falloon (Gis Int) winning the Y8 title and Matthew Ney (Ilm), the Y7. Jack Willock (Gis Int) was second to Falloon while Tui Ruifrok (Ilm) was second in the Y7 girls’ division. Lucy Bartlett (Mt Maunganui) won the Y8 girls’ title and Lulu Johnson (Otumoetai) the Y7 girls’ race. In other team results, Gis Int were second in the Y7 girls’ division won by Whakatane; Gis Int were third in the Y8 girls’ division won by Otumoetai.
