Santa Claus is coming to Johnstown Garden Centre
For more information or to shop online, click here:
Johnstown Garden Centre has recently opened a GIANT CHRISTMAS SHOP full of decorations, presents, food and essentials. And don't miss Santa Claus! He will be in his Johnstown Garden Centre Grotto from December 1st, Friday - Sunday between 2pm and 6pm.
Special thanks to the Newbridge Gospel Choir.
Below is a short history of how it all started at Johnstown Garden Centre:
John and Elsie Clarke founded Johnstown Garden Centre in August 1974, on a greenfield site in the quaint ancient Norman village of Johnstown, Naas, Co. Kildare in Ireland.
The company expanded rapidly and in 1980, sons Jim and Sean joined the firm and today manage the site jointly. John and Elsie are still involved on a regular basis but taking it a bit easier now after 39 years, both enjoying very good health!
The Centre has been the recipient of many prestigious awards and recognition during the years including Garden Centre of the Year, and a 5 star quality award from Horticulture Ireland, the government agency responsible for Irish Horticulture. In August 1999 as we celebrated 25 years at Johnstown we were hosts to the World Congress of the International Garden Centre Association, with nearly 300 delegates from 16 countries attending. They are due to make a return visit again in 2014, our 40th year! In 2005, due to continuous expansion the Garden Centre moved in its entirety to a new site in Johnstown directly opposite the old centre.
A brand new Johnstown Garden Centre was born.! This site is 6 times bigger than the old one and features a very exciting new building with very extensive plant halls with Ireland's largest plant selection and a bright airy shopping environment,a café and very extensive car and coach parking.
In 2013, the store size was doubed again and an expanded new Cafe with 200 seats was added making it a real destination centre for all the family. We were one of the first companies in Ireland to have a website and now we welcome you to our new full webshop. Our aim has always been to be truely a Gardeners' Garden Centre.

Title: What is Johnstown, County Kildare?, Explain Johnstown, County Kildare

Description: Johnstown , is a village in County Kildare, Ireland. It is located 2 km north of Naas just off the N7 at junction 8. It is approximately 25 km from Dublin City Centre, and is a home for commuters working in Dublin and Naas. Most of the housing was built after 1990 and so it has a community website to foster local links. The main street was a part of the old main road southwest from Dublin towards Cork and Limerick, and the village was a hamlet in 1970. The Johnstown Inn was a busy coaching stop until the 19th century, and outside it the Cork mail coach was stopped and burned at the start of the 1798 rebellion. It had a post office that closed in the 1920s, and still has the ruins of the medieval St John's church that became a ruin after 1500. The church is famous for the grave of the earl of Mayo, the viceroy who was killed in India in 1872. The main road eventually bypassed Johnstown in 1964 when the Naas Dual Carriageway was finished. This was enlarged into the 6-lane N7 road from Dublin to Johnstown, after which it reduces to the 4-lane M7 motorway that runs towards Limerick. The main housing estates in the village are: Johnstown Manor St John's Grove Johnstown Gardens Furness Manor
