Robert Geddes reviews Bass Phillip's 2013 Pinot Noir.
Bass Phillip is among Australia's leading wine producers. Owner, Phillip Jones, resolutely pursues low cropping via biodynamic viticultural practices to produce individualistic wines, including pinot, rose, gamay, chardonnay and gewürztraminer.
Rob Geddes, Master of Wine, has been immersed in every aspect of the wine industry for more than 30 years as an author, consultant, judge and educator.
After starting his career in the vineyards of the Clare Valley, Rob was the 3rd Australian to pass the rigorous International Master of Wine exams. He is one of less than 20 MWs in Australia today.
Rob is the author of long-running national wine guide, ‘Australian Wine Vintages’ (also known as the Gold Book) and ‘A Good Nose and Great Legs: the art of wine from the vine to the table’, a popular reference book to understand and enjoy wine.
Rob is a sought after public speaker, media interviewee and wine educator, regularly hosting corporate events and consumer courses for those who want to learn more about wine, wine trends and food matching.
Rob is known for his charismatic and often humorous presentation style and his encyclopaedic knowledge of wine. He is also a judge at numerous national and international wine shows.

CLARE VALLEY WINE TASTING
Wine Week 101: Back to the bargains.
After last week's money no object special, we decided that we would get back to some more affordable wine. We have a look at a Chenin Blanc, a grape we haven't done on its own on WineWeek until now. For reds we look at a great value pinot noir from the Mornington Peninsula, and a to continue the French styled theme we also look at a GSM, Rhone style blend from the Margaret River region.
