Josephine Falls - How to get there - Australia
In this video I’m going to show you Josephine Falls. It’s a beautiful waterfall only 15 mins drive from the Australian town Mirriwinni. I’m going to show how to get there and what it looks like in an aerial drone montage at the end of the video. I hope you enjoy it and that you get to experience Josephine Falls in person for yourself. Note: The track to the main viewing deck is wheelchair friendly.

WILD Natural Water Slide at Josephine Falls, Australia | Queensland Rainforest Waterfall Tour
The wild natural water slide and pools at Josephine Falls were definitely the highlight of my trip to Cairns. My rainforest waterfall tour around Northern Queensland was an amazing travel adventure and part of my study abroad experience in Australia that I’ll remember for a very long time.

What’s one thing that every student who studies abroad in Australia has to do? Tell me in the comments because if you suggest something that I haven’t gotten to yet there’s a good chance that I’ll do it ????
For my last day in Cairns I found a budget rainforest waterfall excursion around Northern Queensland. I was eager to explore the rainforest so I booked my spot right after my hostel told me about the tour.
The plan was to visit Babinda Boulders, Josephine Falls, Millaa Millaa Falls, and Lake Eacham – all spots in Australia’s Daintree Rainforest. The morning of I grabbed my GoPro and headed out.
After an hour we arrived at Babinda Boulders for the first stop. Our guide described the site as “crystal clear water cascading over rocks” and although it wasn’t quite as amazing as it had been made out, I still thought the site was a very scenic and peaceful spot.
The second stop on the rainforest waterfall tour was Josephine Falls, which has a wild natural water slide and is one of the most dangerous waterfalls in Queensland.
Luckily it was safe to swim when I went since the water levels were low. After seeing the amazing lookout views I decided to brace the cold and jump into the freezing natural swimming pool.
I was hesitant to get in, but after adjusting to the water in the natural pool I can definitely say that it was worth it. It was slippery climbing up the rocks to the natural water slide and I initially struggled, especially with my GoPro Session in my hands.
Going down the water slide at Josephine Falls was such a fun time! I stayed in longer than expected and took a few runs down the natural slide plus relaxed in the swimming pool at the bottom for a while as well.
The waterslide at Josephine Falls was really exhilarating and definitely got my adrenaline pumping. Then more than ever I was really happy to have remembered my towel since the water at Josephine Falls was some of the coldest that I had been in since swimming in glacier water in Vancouver over 10 years ago.
After Josephine Falls our rainforest waterfall tour around the Daintree Rainforest headed to Millaa Millaa Falls. After recovering from my awful hair flick attempt I tried to climb in behind the Millaa Millaa waterfall. Being very careful of the incredibly slippery rocks I made my way behind the falls.
As difficult as it was, seeing Millaa Millaa Falls from behind was very much worth it. Some of the views and GoPro footage that I got form there was pretty spectacular.
Our last spot of the rainforest tour was Lake Eacham in Crater Lakes National Park. I would have gotten in the water but after such a long day, but the warning signs of a crocodile living in the lake were a good enough reason for me to use this last stop for a bit of rest and relaxation.
The student travel vlogs from around Australia are going to keep coming every single Tuesday so make sure to subscribe and I’ll see you guys next week!
