Joyland & Britannia Pier Great Yarmouth Vlog July 2018
In this vlog I return to Great Yarmouth for a visit to Joyland, a small children's amusement park that opened on the sea front in 1949. I share on ride footage from all of the major attractions at the park including the Super Snails, Tyrolean Tub Twist, Spook Express and many more.
Along with visiting Joyland I also head on to Britannia Pier to explore the rides located at the end of the pier. I take a ride on the ghost train along with taking a look around the rest of pier before making my way up to Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach.

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol
An amusement arcade (often referred to as video arcade or simply arcade) is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.

Sky Drop Off-Ride HD Pleasure Beach Great Yarmouth UK
This ride is located at the Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, UK.
Skydrop is a drop tower designed by Zamperla. It was shipped from Italy and opened in the park in 2004, becoming one of the most technologically advanced rides ever in Great Yarmouth. It also became the tallest ride in the park, being 22 meters (72 ft) tall (just beating the rollercoaster and Evolution - which are both about 20 meters high). It is powered by compressed air (like Rush at Thorpe Park) and controlled by a computer which tells the pistons exactly how much air to use on its ascent and descent. The ride usually drops 4 times, with the last time holding you at the top for about ten seconds. Every drop always results in a few bounces afterwards, before it suddenly goes straight back up. 16 riders can go on it at a time, and enjoy the comfortable seating which all faces in the same direction.
REVIEW: This ride is quite good fun, and one of my favourites in the park. There is only a few things that I don't like about it. One being that it's not very big (for me anyway), and the other that it gets boring quite quickly.
Seating Comfort: Medium
Stomach Feeling: Medium/High
Intensity: Medium/High
OVERALL RATING: 7/10
Evolution Off-Ride HD Pleasure Beach Great Yarmouth UK
This ride is located at the Pleasure Beach in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, UK.
Evolution raises up to 20 meters (65 ft) into the sky on its giant arm, as the cars revolve 90 degrees on their axis. Up to 40 people can ride at a time. Evolution opened at the park in 2006, and was designed by the Fabbri group.
REVIEW: This ride is actually quite scary. You end up going at all sorts of different angles which can be rather frightening when you're up high in the air. This ride is rather uncomfortable, as when you first get on you think you're secure but once it's at the top you feel like you're gonna fall out. It is a great attraction to the Pleasure Beach.
Seating Comfort: Low
Stomach Feeling: Low
Intensity: High
OVERALL RATING: 7/10
HAUNTED HOUSE, GT. YARMOUTH. PLEASURE BEACH 2016 (LIGHTS ON) HD.
Here is a special treat for all you ghost train fans, a ride on the classic Great Yarmouth. Pleasure Beach Haunted House Ghost Train with the lights on for a special peek. Filmed on Saturday 28th May 2016.
Special thanks to all who made this possible and I hope you enjoy
the ride. It certainly is one of my favorites !
Orbiter Off-Ride HD Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach UK
This ride is located at the Pleasure Beach, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England, UK.
Orbiter (also known as 'Extreme' or 'Extreme Orbiter' is a fairground ride invented in 1976. It is found in many different places - this particular one opened in 2012. Most come with 'over the shoulder restraints' and some others (including this one come with 'over the leg' restraints. Most Orbiters have 6 arms, each with 3 cars for 2 people. Some tilt more than others.
REVIEW: Just about this particular one. It is a good new attraction to the Pleasure Beach as it lasts a good few minutes. It goes round fast, and makes me quite dizzy which is what I like. However, the seats are not at all comfortable. I have been on two different Orbiter rides (the other at Lowestoft) which had much more comfy seats. It should have 'over the shoulder' restraints in my opinion.
Seating Comfort: Low
Stomach Feeling: Low
Intensity: Medium
OVERALL RATING: 6/10
Joyland - Great Yarmouth
Afternoon trip to Joyland
Roller Coaster front seat on-ride HD POV Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach
The oldest operating coaster in the UK! Roller Coaster opened at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach in 1932 and still features an onboard Brakeman - an operator who sits on the train controlling the speed of the train using an brake lever. At the time of writing (August 2012), only six other coasters use the brakeman technique to control the speed.
Situated on the seafront, Roller Coaster dips and dives around an impressive structure. Although it's not thrilling by today's standards, it has a certain charm making it a popular ride for all ages.
Watch in 1080 HD for the best experience.

Places to see in ( Great Yarmouth - UK )
Great Yarmouth, often known to locals as Yarmouth, is a coastal town in Norfolk, England. Great Yarmouth is located at the mouth of the River Yare, 20 miles east of Norwich. Great Yarmouth has been a seaside resort since 1760, and is the gateway from the Norfolk Broads to the North Sea. For hundreds of years Great Yarmouth was a major fishing port, depending mainly on the herring fishery, but Great Yarmouth fishing industry suffered a steep decline in the second half of the 20th century, and has now all but disappeared.
The discovery of oil in the North Sea in the 1960s led to a flourishing oil rig supply industry, and today Great Yarmouth services offshore natural gas rigs. More recently, the development of renewable energy sources, especially offshore wind power, has created further opportunities for support services. A wind farm of 30 generators is within sight of the town on the Scroby Sands. Great Yarmouth has a beach and two piers.
Great Yarmouth is on a 3.1-mile (5.0 km) spit sandwiched between the North Sea and River Yare. Great Yarmouth well-known features include the historic rows (narrow streets) and the main tourist sector on the seafront. The area is linked to Gorleston, Cobholm and Southtown by Haven Bridge and to the A47 and A149 by the Breydon Bridge.
Great Yarmouth is connected to Norwich by the Wherry Lines from Great Yarmouth railway station, it is served by an hourly service provided by Abellio Greater Anglia via Acle or, less frequently, via Reedham. The bus station in Great Yarmouth is the major hub for local routes and is located under Market Gates Shopping Centre. The River Yare cuts off Great Yarmouth from other areas of the borough such as Gorleston and Southtown and so the town's two bridges have become major transport links.
