Raging winds damage Strathmore Theatre
Powerful winds. gusting up to nearly 100 km/h suddenly blasted through Calgary Sunday, downing power lines, toppling trees, swamping sailboats and stirring up a brown wall of dust. But the biggest damage came in Strathmore where part of a brick firewall next to the Joyland Theatre came tumbling down by the packed auditorium that was showing a matinee of Cars 2.
