Every year on one of Sendai's most famous streets, Jozenji Dori, the Sendai Pageant of Starlight (仙台光のページェント Sendai Hikari no Pageanto) is held attracting thousands of visitors to its busy streets. The festival extends into the neighboring Kotodai Park (勾当台公園 Kotodai Koen) and features over 600,000 LED Christmas Lights. One of the biggest ever! This event is free, kid-friendly and one of a kind! Why not enjoy the beautiful starlight lit Zelkova trees, try some of the amazing Japanese winter street food, take a skate on the ice skating rink and enjoy the pageant together with your family!
