Hiking through a forest to visit a Korean Pagoda in Yongin (용인 - 동백), Korea (한국탑)

As a fun weekend activity to get some much needed exercise we decided to hike through a small forest located on a hill that leads to a Korean Pagoda / Pavilion in the Dongbaek area of Yongin, South Korea (용인 - 동백 -한국탑). It's winter in Korea these days and there is still snow on the ground which you can clearly see in the video; however, during the afternoon it's recently been reaching daytime highs above zero degrees Celsius which caused some of the snow to melt. We're so busy these days trying to juggle the two time full roles we pretend to seamlessly handle: teaching English and travel blogging.

With time ticking down on our time in Korea, we're scrambling to pack our belongings, send things home and finish our teaching commitments.

Feeling a bit stressed by it all we decided to go outside an enjoy a bit of fresh air and scenery.

Luckily, Audrey Korean neighborhood, although very much urban, has some wonderful parks nearby where you can pretend to escape it all.

As we set foot on a quest to find the Korean pagoda, we couldn't believe we were nearly the only people out there.

Koreans, in general, are very much into exercising and whenever I've visited popular trails and/or mountains it's often been insanely crowded.

Thus, on this particular day it was a welcome relief to practically be out on our own.

Once reaching the top of the hill we see the Korean Pagoda which is surrounded by a plethora of Korean exercise machines.

We take the time to try out a few of them which seem to all be unique from one another.

Finally, we take in the city views from the top of the Pagoda - a true escape from the hustle and bustle of traffic below. On the way back we decided to stop off for a waffle and coffee.

This particular coffee shop is our favorite place to work on our travel blogs.

( - 동백 - 한국 탑 용인 ) 즐거운 주말 활동이 일부 많이 필요한 운동을 얻기 위하여 우리는 용인, 한국 의 동백 지역에서 한국의 탑 / 파빌리온 에 이르게 언덕에 있는 작은 숲을 통해 하이킹을 하기로 결정했다.

Today we are going on a little excursion in my neighborhood. I actually work just over there at Avalon if you want to see. Yeah, Avalon! Anyway, I'm not going into work today. Instead, we are going for a little hike on this lovely little hill and there is a pagoda up top where we can hang out.

It is still definitely winter here in Korea. The daytime highs have been lately getting just above zero, so the snow has been melting a bit. We've still got quite a bit of cover here as you can see.

We're approaching the pavilion and pagoda here and we've got the Korean exercise machines that are right in front of us. I'm stepping on ice.

Here we have the biggest outdoor gym I have ever encountered in my neighborhood. It is just exercise machines and more exercise machines for every part of your body. They all look unique. I think they're all different. Let's try one out.

Oh, yeah! You work it!

There we have it - the pagoda in my neighborhood. Let's check out the views.

Look up! Even though we're just on a very small hill we still get really good views of my city. You can see the apartment buildings off in the distance but the nice thing is that you can not really hear traffic over here. It feels very peaceful and serene. It is a nice escape from the city here in Yongin.

Down the hill we go and I think we've earned ourselves a little treat for that hike so I'm thinking waffles and coffee.

Sophie took me to her hometown, stayed at her home, her mother made good home cooked meals, and met up with her middle school besties for dinner. BEONDAEGI was on the menu...so being the foodie I am, I have to try things at least once and so I mustered up the courage to take a bite.

This travel video is of us packing up all of our belongings (putting them into a backpack) and moving out from our apartment in Dongbaek, Yongin, South Korea to travel the world! For months, we've had a date circled on the calendar. When something seems so far away at the time (which it did) it's surreal for the date/time to finally arrive. As much as we've enjoyed our time in Korea we're backpackers at heart and our minds have always focused on the trip we've been planning to take. In this travel video, we show you how we fit all of our travel gear into our backpacking backpacks.

It's probably quite evident that we're rusty at backpacking our backpacks given we haven't traveled or left Korea in over a year.

As backpackers, we needed to eliminate a lot of stuff (mostly winter clothes) to pack as little as possible.

This meant we had a huge to do list that included visiting a Korean post office to ship our things back to Canada.

The end of a teaching contract in Korea is always the most hectic because you're still expected to teach all of your regular classes; however, you have the added responsibilities of dealing with your contract, closing your bank account, working out your pension refund and clearing out your apartment.

As much as we'd like to admit we're always on top of this kind of things, it's far from the truth. Scrambling last minute we barely were able to get everything done on time.

We're currently off to travel in Malaysia on an indefinite trip, which should see us spending most of the year (if not the entire year) in Asia.

We both couldn't hide or enthusiasm by doing silly dances while wearing our backpacks. If that's not the worst dancing you've ever seen I'm thoroughly shocked.

We'll miss our time in Korea and have fond memories but now we're doing exactly what we want by traveling the world!
