France: Calais 'Jungle' refugee camp goes up in flames
Multiple fires broke out at the Calais refugee camp commonly known as the 'Jungle' late on Friday night. Emergency workers had successfully extinguished most of the flames, though their efforts were hampered by strong winds.

France: Refugee slits wrist as police resume 'Jungle' camp clearance
French authorities resumed the demolition of parts of the 'Jungle' refugee camp in Calais, with riot police on-site, Tuesday, overseeing the process. They physically removed an Afghan couple after they had been standing on top of a tent since late Monday in a bid to prevent the clearance. As the police approached them the woman, believed to be pregnant, began slitting her wrists – an action she had threatened since the eviction started.

Le site autour de Jules-Ferry, les migrants sont tolérés, est un lieu hostile. C’est un lieu accidenté et pollué puisque c’est une ancienne décharge. Le long du chemin des Dunes, ce sont des Soudanais et des Érythréens qui ont reconstruit leur abri. Plus loin ce sont principalement des Afghans et Pakistanais qui ont dressé leur campement » .

The lion (Panthera leo) is a species in the family Felidae and a member of the genus Panthera. It is considered to be the second-largest living cat species after the tiger, and is easily recognisable by the distinctive mane of the male. Once widepsread throughout North America, Eurasia and Africa, lions currently inhabit scattered populations in Sub-Saharan Africa and one population in western India. It has been listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List since 1996, as populations in African range countries declined by about 43% since the early 1990s. Lion populations are untenable outside designated protected areas. Although the cause of the decline is not fully understood, habitat loss and conflicts with humans are the greatest causes of concern. The Asiatic lion and the West African lion are listed as Endangered and Critically Endangered repectively.
The lion typically inhabits grasslands and savannahs, but is absent in dense forest. It is usually more diurnal than other big cats, but when persecuted adapts to being active at night and at twilight. A lion pride consists of a few adult males, related females and cubs. Prides vary in size and composition from three to 20 adult lions, depending on habitat and prey availability. The lion is an apex and keystone predator. Females cooperate when hunting and prey mostly on large ungulates, including antelope, deer, buffalo, zebras and even giraffes.
The lion is one of the most widely recognised animal symbols in human culture. Cultural depictions of lions are known from the Upper Paleolithic period, with carvings and paintings from the Lascaux and Chauvet Caves in France dated to 17,000 years ago, through virtually all ancient and medieval cultures where they once occurred. It has been extensively depicted in sculptures and paintings, on national flags, and in contemporary films and literature. Lions have been kept in menageries since the time of the Roman Empire, and have been a key species sought for exhibition in zoos over the world since the late 18th century.

In this video we look at the effectiveness of Dutch jungle camouflage pattern in a Woodland Environment during the summer time (North Texas woods). This video will consist of numerous scenes where each will begin with a concealed stationary position (both with & without the use of vegetation), followed by a movement phase out of the initial position. The purpose of the video is to give the viewer a chance to see the individual camouflage pattern and how it looks and blends into this environment. There will be varying degrees of how much of the uniform will be exposed to the viewer. Now for a jewel that has been floating around as a test pressing and anonymously hotting up various dances for a while now. Created by Black Booby label head Richard Rogers, Jungle Booby is a return to the label's re-edit roots following their last release from Gene Hunt. This time Rogers rejigs the DNA of Jungle D.J. by late 70s French group Kikrokos, giving it a newfangled, disco makeover. It introduces itself with brutish syncopation lathered with a dusty, string section layer before slowly teasing in an animated bassline.
