Sea Kayaking the Jurassic Coast of Dorset.
Saved the best for last..........previous day was very windy, and this day was seriously in doubt, according to the Coastguard ( Isn't it always?) but, the weather came good.Managed to visit all the top spots, and of course to visit by Kayak is the best way, in my opinion..........except Lulworth Cove, strangely, which was much better, from up on the hill.Launched at Ringstead Bay, West of Durdle Door, but not as far as Weymouth.Another Toll road, as you're crossing a Private Estate £5 was the fee,and the lad shut the bogs, just as I got back.......Hows that for customer service? Lovely. Anyway, the launch is a bit awkward, down a steep shingle beach, and at high water, the waves dump on it. Not like Bondi, or Hawaii, but just makes it awkward. First stop was White Nothe Head, the sea was a bit lumpy for my liking, but I've been in much worse, but never by choice. From here onwards, the Coast is extra-special, unique, very distinctive, and absolutely lives up to it's reputation. The dazzling chalk cliffs, lovely shingle beachs, and amazing geological features, are a winner in anyone's book.Pity, poor Matt, who absconded on the Wednesday (this was Friday) and missed it all. Nevermind, it will all be there another day for him, and Me, as part of my plan on this trip was a jaunt to the Isle of Wight, from the mainland. These ambitions don't go away, so I will certainly return, and I still have some unfinished business with this stretch of Coast. The music was all my own again,a little progression from 2 chords - Bm7 to Amaj7,and an ascent up the scale that was originally the 2nd piece of my Farne Islands theme, it fitted then, and it fits now ha ha.I may conclude this trip with a compilation video, that includes some of my sightseeing, walks around Lulworth, Durdle, and Tyneham village.
