○What is the representative cultural resource of Cheongsong-gun?
Cheongsong!! No matter who denies, we have the best mountain in Korea, the mountain of the mountain, Juwangsan!
Every single person in Korea knows about the greatness of Juwangsan.
UNESCO World Geological Park, the city of Slow City, and the whole Cheongsong-gun is listed as UNESCO World Geological Park.
From now on, we’ll make the most of this. We also have a reputation. What does Cheongsong mean?
Cheongsong in Chinese characters literally means green pine tree, which also represents ‘cleanliness.’ If Cheongsong-gun preserves the clean image well, I believe that one day we will shine.
When people say, ‘Oxygen Café Cheongsong-gun, they mean, ‘everything is fresh and clean like oxygen.’ We tend to use the phrase for image marketing as well.
Cheongsong is actually clean like oxygen and has a good reputation. When you think of Cheongsong,
don’t you get the image of generous people and clean natural environment?
○What is the current status of Cheognsong’s Golden Apple’s domestic sales and export?
Everyone in Korea knows about Cheongsong’s Golden Apple.
We, public officials, are all wearing jackets, and I have two kinds of apples for them: the red apple and the yellow apple.
The red apple is the famous ‘Busa’ apple, Cheongsong’s representative apple brand. The yellow apple indicates the golden apple of Cheongsong-gun, and it’s also registered as a brand too.
The official product name is ‘Golden Jin,’ and it is very luxurious and costs twice the price of the red apples.
We don’t have any supply left for the export. They are hard to get in Korea as well.
The taste of golden apples is also quite different from the regular ones. It is a very high-end product.
Domestic sales are enough for us right now, but in 10 years, we’re planning to make it even more high-quality to open the road of export.
We need to resound Cheongsong apple’s fame all around the world.
As an agricultural area, Cheongsong is working on high-quality apples to go beyond Korea and be the best in the world.
Cheongsong has a huge daily temperature range. The land is in the form of the basin, which is a great environment to produce delicious and high-quality apples.
We’re also working on many scientific types of research for Cheongsong apple’s cultivation technology.
By now, you’ll know how great the Cheongsong apple is. They are the best!

Cheongsong-gun registered for the UNESCO Global Geoparks at last!
Expected to make a leap into a global tourist site based on geological resources
[International i Journal = Reporter Ma Hyeseong from Yeoui Peak, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea] Cheongsong-gun, a geological repository having natural conditions, was registered for the UNESCO Global Geoparks for the 2nd time in Korea next to Jeju Island.

As a result, Cheongsong-gun will be entitled to the status as the UNESCO Global Geoparks for 4 years from May 5, 2017.
Cheongsong County, which was recommended to be registered by the UNESCO Global Geoparks Committee last December, was finally adopted as the UNESCO Global Geoparks at the UNESCO Executive Council held in Paris, France at 4:30 pm on May 1, 2017 local time.
A total of 33 places have been designated as UNESCO Global Geoparks over 127 countries in the world, and 8 places in 8 countries including France, Iran, and Spain were newly added to the list of Global Geoparks along with Cheongsong.
As a result, Cheongsong-gun paved the way for growing into a tourist site whose geological value is recognized through nature conservation and utilization of its tourism resources.
Preserving lithium-bearing tosudite minerals massively, which are present in a very small amount only in less than 10 regions of the world and possessing spherulitic rhyolite, the so-called flower stone, Cheongsong-gun has been evaluated as the optimum place for geology study in the world in the screening course of Global Geoparks.
In particular, the Juwangsan National Park is made up of one of the thickest volcanic ash layers in the world, and the Juwangsan Valley Geology Trail has been highly appreciated by the evaluation committee because the convenience facilities are designed well enough to facilitate the visit of the elderly or handicapped.
Also, Beopsudoseok (Stone) Geosite, the home of Cheongsong Porcelain raw materials, is an area where geology, history, and culture are mixed well to become a region that suits the concept of Geoparks most.
Apples, one of the representative resources of Cheongsong, are worthy of being used as geological food because they are grown on a hardened ground where the ejecta from volcanic activities that shook the southeastern part of the Korean Cretaceous Peninsula has been piled up.
However, as the Global Geoparks should be re-certified every 4 years, we are also under pressure to make constant efforts and achievements in order to revitalize this Global Geoparks.
With regard to the registration for Global Geoparks, Cheongsong County Governor Han Sang-soo said, We will utilize the brand value of UNESCO to improve the awareness of Cheongsong and attract tourists and added, We will induce stay type tours to create income and open the era of sustainable future development.”

Juwang Mountain, which is about the skeletons of Korea, is a famous mountain that passes south through Mt. Kumgang, Mt. Seorak, Mt. Odae, Mt. Dutasan and Mt. Taebaek, and was built in Bangjeong-myeon, Cheongsong-gun, the center of eastern Gyeongsangbuk-do. Mount Juwang, located in the middle of the Nakdongjeong Pavilion, is Jinsan Mountain, which spans Cheongsong and Yeongdeok counties, and there is Ilwolsan Mountain (1,128 meters) of Yeongcheon to the north and Bohyeonsan Mountain (1,124 meters) in Yeongcheon to the south, but there is no mountain area of this height, making the mountain look grand and rugged. In particular, the rocky peaks and the rocky cliffs of Juwangsan Mountain were magnificent and beautiful, and they were once regarded as the 6th scenic view of the Palgyeong of Joseon Dynasty. Such large rocky peaks on Mount Zhouwang have formed a canyon to create a magnificent view because of repeated volcanic eruptions in the past geological times. The rock formations of the mountain are the molten rock, a rock solidified by the high temperature of volcanic ash flowing down like lava, which is piled up several times and formed into the current high cliffs and rocky peaks.
Mt.Juwang was designated as Korea's 12th national park on March 30, 1976, as it has many temples and relics, including Daejonsa Temple, Baengnyeonam and Juwangam, along with its outstanding landscape. The Juwangsan National Park, which covers an area of 107.4 square kilometers, is largely divided into the Inner Zhou Dynasty and the Outer Zone. In the Najuwang district, there are the Juwang Valley and the Jeolgol Valley, so the green color melts in the sound of the water, and there are Daejon Temple, Kiam, Hakso University, and waterfalls to entertain our eyes and ears. Mt. Zhou is beautiful in all four seasons, especially in autumn, where the red light brings the glory of light with colorful colors. The wave of maple leaves the giam peak reddened, leading to the waterfall rock giam maple, kitchen valley and Jusanji in Naewon-dong.

韓国の突拍子もない周王山は白頭大幹の山脈が太白山脈に沿って流れ,金剛山,雪岳山,五台山,頭陀山,太白山を経て南に向かい,慶尚北道東部の中央である青松郡浮動面に作られた名山である。 洛東正脈の中間に位置した周王山は、青松郡と盈徳(ヨンドク)郡にわたっている珍山とし、北朝鮮では遠くに栄養の日月山(1,128m)、南には永川の普賢山(1,124m)がいるだけで、周辺にはこれといった高さの産地がなくて山勢がさらに勇壮、険峻に見える。 特に、周王山一帯の岩峰や奇岩絶壁は雄大壮厳でも秀麗な景観でかつて朝鮮八景の第6景に挙げられるほど優れた地形景観を誇った。 周王山にこのように大きな岩峰が峡谷を作って絶景をつくったのは,過去の地質時代に繰り返された火山爆発のためだ。 この山の岩質は,火山噴火時,高温の火山灰が溶岩のように流れ,固い岩の回流凝灰岩として数回爆発が繰り返され,幾重にも重なり,現在の高い絶壁と岩峰を成している。
周王山はこのように優れた地形景観とデチョンサ、ベクリョンアム、ジュワンアムなど多くの寺や遺物があり、1976年3月30日、韓国の12番目の国立公園に指定された。 計107.4㎢の面積に達する周王山国立公園は大きく内ジュワン地区と外注のワンジ区に分けられる。 来週王地区には周王渓谷と絶骨渓谷があり,青さが水の音に溶け込み,ここには大田寺,奇岩,鶴小台,滝などがあり,韓国の目と耳を楽しませてくれる。 朱王山は四季すべてが美しいが,特に奇岩と紅葉が調和をなした秋は,その赤い光によって色とりどりの美しい彩色が光の栄光を呼び込むほど,多様な姿を演出する。 奇岩峰を赤く染めた紅葉の波は,滝岩の奇岩紅葉や厨房渓谷,内院洞の主産地につながる。

우리나라의 엉치뼈 쯤에 해당하는 주왕산은 백두대간의 산줄기가 태백산맥을 타고 내려오면서 금강산, 설악산, 오대산, 두타산, 태백산을 지나 남으로 내려가다가 경상북도 동부의 중앙인 청송군 부동면에 만들어 놓은 명산이다. 낙동정맥의 중간에 위치한 주왕산은 청송군과 영덕군에 걸쳐 있는 진산으로, 북으로는 멀리 영양의 일월산(1,128m), 남으로는 영천의 보현산(1,124m)이 있을 뿐 주변에는 이렇다 할 높이의 산지가 없어서 산세가 더욱 웅장하고 험준하게 보인다. 특히 주왕산 일대의 암봉들과 기암절벽은 웅장하면서도 수려한 경관으로 일찍이 조선팔경의 제6경으로 꼽힐 만큼 뛰어난 지형경관을 자랑하였다. 주왕산에 이렇듯 큰 암봉들이 협곡을 이뤄 절경을 만들게 된 것은 과거 지질시대에 거듭된 화산폭발 때문이다. 이 산의 암질은 화산폭발 시 고온의 화산재가 용암처럼 흘러내려 굳은 바위인 회류응회암으로서 수차례 폭발이 거듭되며 겹겹이 쌓여 현재의 높은 절벽과 암봉을 이루게 된 것이다.
주왕산은 이렇듯 빼어난 지형경관과 더불어 대전사, 백련암, 주왕암 등 많은 사찰과 유물들이 있어, 1976년 3월 30일 우리나라의 12번째 국립공원으로 지정되었다. 총 107.4㎢의 면적에 달하는 주왕산국립공원은 크게 내주왕지구와 외주왕지구로 나뉜다. 내주왕지구에는 주왕계곡과 절골계곡이 있어 푸르름이 물소리에 녹아 흐르고, 이곳에는 대전사, 기암, 학소대, 폭포 등이 있어 우리의 눈과 귀를 즐겁게 해준다. 주왕산은 사계절이 모두 아름다운데, 특히 기암과 단풍이 어우러진 가을은 그 붉은 빛으로 인해 형형색색의 아기자기한 채색이 빛의 영광을 불러들일 정도로 다양한 모습을 연출한다. 기암봉우리를 붉게 물들인 단풍의 물결은 폭포암 기암단풍과 주방계곡, 내원동 주산지로 이어진다.

A Midsummer Night′s Dream of Maxime from France
Maxime Branchelot came to Korea from France, the cradle of cinema, to learn more about film-making. He developed interest in Korean films after watching the movie Oldboy directed by Park Chan-wook. Since then he enjoyed watching Korean movies and naturally became interested in Korea and its culture. In February of 2014, with only one semester left before his graduation, Maxime sent applications to Korean film production and distribution companies that he found on the homepage of the Korean Film Council. One of some 40 companies that received his applications contacted him and offered him a six-month internship.
His six months in Korea passed in a flash. Now it′s time for him to return to his home country. But before he leaves, Maxime wants to experience the diversity of Korea. He embarks on a trip with two of his friends from his hometown. The first place that they decide to visit is Cheongsong, which is home to the filming site of director Kim Ki-duk′s movie Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter...and Spring, Maxime′s favorite Korean movie. Cheongsong welcomes Maxime and his friends with its dazzling sunshine and beautiful scenery, just like in the movie, to celebrate Maxime′s final trip in Korea.
프랑스 청년 막심의 ‘한 여름 밤의 꿈’
영화의 종주국이라 불리는 프랑스에서 영화를 공부하기 위해 한국에 왔다는 막심 브란체롯. 칸 영화제에서 소개된 박찬욱 감독의 영화 ＜올드보이＞를 본 후, 한국 영화의 매력에 빠지게 됐다. 그 후 일부러 한국 영화를 찾아보게 됐고, 한국에 대한 관심이 커졌다. 대학의 마지막 학기를 남겨둔 올해 2월. 한국 영화진흥위원회 홈페이지에 있는 한국 영화제작사와 배급사에 무작정 입사 지원서를 보냈다. 40여 곳 중에서 막심 브란체롯의 꿈을 응원해 줄 한 곳에서 연락이 왔다. 그렇게 소규모 영화사의 인턴 자격으로 6개월간의 한국 생활이 시작됐다.가는 시간은 잡을 수 없는 것일까? 막심 브란체롯에게 허락된 한국에서의 6개월이란 시간은 무척 빨리 지나갔다. 이제 곧 프랑스로 돌아가야 한다. 한국의 다양한 모습을 기억에 담아가고 싶은 막심 브란체롯. 프랑스 바닷가 마을 라로셸 출신인 고향 친구 2명과 함께 여행을 떠나기로 했다. 그들의 첫 번째 목적지는 그가 가장 좋아하는 한국 영화, 김기덕 감독의 ＜봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울 그리고 봄＞의 촬영지인 청송이다. 영화에서처럼 신비로운 모습 그대로 간직하고 있을까? 눈부시도록 빛나는 태양 아래, 고향친구 셋이서 떠나는 열정 가득한 여행. 막심 브란체롯이 한국을 떠나기 전, 꿈같은 여름날의 마지막 여행이 시작된다.
