Indoor Go-Kart Racing - Fast Lap Las Vegas 11/18/13
Kelly and I decided to try out indoor go-kart racing at Fast Lap-Las Vegas on our last day in Vegas. It was a total blast, and we're going to do it again on our trip next year. A Groupon for this took the price way down.
This was the second of the two races that we did. It was only me and Kelly in the first race, and in this one, she started behind me.

Pray Reh, (Giovanni), 62 years old with long term illness on November 1st, 2019 around 8:00 AM at Galtier Senior Home in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Pray Reh left his native land, Karenni due to the war that we all experienced back then. Pray Reh lived in refugee camp, Thailand more than 20 years. He came to United States in 2009.

USA: SPEED LIMITS ON NATIONAL HIGHWAYS TO BE SCRAPPED

Lawmakers in the U.S. Congress are set today to strip away the maximum speed limit for national highways.
Some in Congress say the speed limit - and other highway safety laws now on the books - should be left for states to decide.
Clinton administration officials say the move to kill the national speed limit will open the door for removing other safety laws that are saving lives and billions of taxpayer dollars.
On America's interstates - for most of the more than 42-thousand miles - the maximum speed allowed by law is fifty-five.
It has been that way since the energy crisis forced a change in the law in 1974 - although some states now allow a sixty-five limit for remote stretches of highway.
In most states, the highway patrol are left to enforce the national law.
Most will tell you that the law has made America's super highways safer - while there are still up to 40-thousand deaths attributed to highway accidents each year.
SOUNDBITE:
Well hopefully, knowing that we're enforcing the speed limit will put that fear of possibly getting a ticket...so yeah I think that will send them the message that speeds...need to be kept down.

Troopers on the front line face drivers daily challenging the speed law and other safety laws - like one requiring the use of seat belts.
Most troopers will tell you going back to a higher speed will make their job more difficult.
SOUNDBITE: It's not been put into effect, but I would imagine that the increased speed, with the same amount of traffic volume or increased volume as people are moving into the area, it's going to cause us problems.

Federal officials say it's simply a matter of saving lives - by the thousands - and billions of dollars in health care costs.
SOUNDBITE: The highway safety laws of this country save 10,500 lives, and prevent 177,000 injuries each year.

But some lawmakers - mostly from large western states - say it's a classic case of state's rights, a matter for states to make laws based on their own needs.
SOUNDBITE: Why should people be restricted by some speed limit that is set for the most populous state in the nation, New Jersey. We have different problems than they have. Let the state of New Jersey set their speed limit, what they feel is appropriate for the state of New Jersey, and the state legislature in Nevada will do the same.

For now those who enforce the laws hope politics in Congress will not make America's highways more dangerous.

Texas State Highway 130 (SH 130), also known as the Pickle Parkway, is a highway from Interstate 35 (I-35) in San Antonio along I-410 and I-10 to east of Seguin, then north as tollway from there to I-35 north of Georgetown.[1] SH 130 runs in a 131-mile (211 km) corridor east and south of Austin. The route parallels I-35 and is intended to relieve the Interstate's traffic volume through the San Antonio–Austin corridor by serving as an alternate route.
The highway was developed in response to the tremendous surge in truck traffic on the I-35 corridor brought on by the North American Free Trade Agreement during the late 1990s, especially truck traffic originating from Laredo, where the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) reported 150 trucks entering the United States every hour. A proponent of the highway's development, Capital Area Transportation Coalition, said that congestion along the I-35 corridor is costing businesses more than $194 million a year in higher operating costs and lost productivity.
The highway is noted for having a speed limit of at least 80 mph (130 km/h) along its tolled section. The 41-mile (66 km) section of the toll road between SH 45 and I-10 has a posted speed limit of 85 mph (137 km/h), the highest posted speed limit in the United States.
