Bonus Tip:

Netherlands Castle garden Slot Assumburg Heemskerk Noord-Holland Kasteeltuin Nederland
Castle Slot Assumburg (also Stayokay hostel) has finally been given a castle garden. Of the original garden was nothing left. The reconstruction is done by using an extant print of a copper engraving. After three years of hard work and years of preparation, the garden is finally ready. In the castle garden is an old fruit orchard with 150 varieties, especially apples and pears. These species have been described for 1850. There is a vegetable and herb garden where a true well is. At the end of the garden is a special (shore) notes collection. There is a rose garden with 2500 roses to admire. A part of the garden is screened by hedges and there is also a bell-shaped pond with fountain. Along the fence are ornate pedestals with busts and there are decorative vases on pedestals. It has become a unique garden with a formal and an informal part behind the castle Slot Assumburg. The castle garden Slot Assumburg is every day free to visit between 9.00 and 18.00 hours. History of the castle garden: Around the year 1730 there was a geometric ornamental garden, at that time was constructed only for the very rich. Merchant and banker Mr. Jean Deutz (1655-1719) in Amsterdam was the principal for a formal garden with a unique style garden, an architecture that is now almost completely disappeared. This baroque castle garden, which has some kinship with the royal gardens of Het Loo in Apeldoorn, will be a attraction in Noord-Holland. Website Castle:

HOLLAND CARRIES ON NETHERLANDS IN WORLD WAR II & POST WAR ERA PROPAGANDA MOVIE 32404
Made for an American audience to demonstrate Dutch resolve and Holland's value as an ally, HOLLAND CARRIES ON was released by the Instructional Films Division of I.T.&T. in 1945. Adapted from a Dutch documentary made by the Netherlands Government, the film looks at Holland in WWII and looks at its present and future. The film stresses that Holland's problem is not merely reconversion but a task of reconstruction. It suggests that the Dutch dike building tradition carried on into the Dutch war experience and that the Dutch never lost faith and carried on in Dutch tradition. The film features images of modern Holland including highways, electric trains and an airport where KLM DC-3 planes are seen (2:25). At 5:00 and onward, scenes are shown of dike building and the famous reclamation of land which shaped modern Holland. At 8:30, the film looks at the German invasion of Holland in 1940, and shows a brief history of the nation under Nazi domination. Queen Wilhemina is seen going into exile, and Free Dutch Navy and shipping are seen participating in various war campaigns in Europe including at Sicily and Normandy (10:00). At 10:45, Free Dutch Air Force pilots are seen bombing war material plants in Holland. At 12:15, the flooding of Holland by the retreating Germans is seen, and at 12:40 the parachute drop that was part of Operation Market-Garden is seen which liberated Arnhem and the Netherlands. The battle for the liberation of Holland is seen at 14:00 onward. At 16:00 the plight of the nation after the invasion is seen, with Dutch civilians living in shelters due to the loss of housing. The return of Queen Wilhelmina is seen at 17:00 onward, and the honored burial of martyrs to the nation is seen at 17:45. At 18:30, the rebuilding of the dikes is seen and the determination of the Dutch is reiterated.
One reviewer has written, The film portrays the hard-working, Dutch (“Hollanders”), who have over the years heroically claimed their country from the sea, built a strong economy, and entered the modern era – with one of those cheerful 1950’s narrator voices and triumphant marching music in the background. Themes of “sweat, toil and perseverance” are presented with a liberal sprinkling of words like “conquest” – pertaining, of course, to Dutch efforts to bring their country into the modern era. It attempts to build kinship with Americans – particularly Dutch-Americans – in the hopes that they will carry the message further. This section ends with a great line: “No other nation can look at a map and say, ‘This, we made with our own hands. What other people can farm where their ancestors once fished?'” Peaceful farm animals follow, bring up deep religious conviction, and peace-loving people...
Wilhelmina was Queen of the Netherlands from 1890 until her abdication in 1948. Wilhelmina was the only child of King William III and his second wife Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont. She became heir presumptive to the Dutch throne, after her half brother and great uncle had died, when she was 4 years old. She became queen when her father died, when she was 10 years old. As she was still a minor, her mother served as regent until Wilhelmina became 18 years old. In 1901, she married Duke Henry of Mecklenburg-Schwerin with whom she had a daughter Juliana.
She reigned for nearly 58 years, longer than any other Dutch monarch. Her reign saw World War I and World War II, the economic crisis of 1933, and the decline of the Netherlands as a major colonial power. Outside the Netherlands she is primarily remembered for her role in World War II, in which she proved to be a great inspiration to the Dutch resistance.

Met dank aan de velen, die hun kamera’s hebben opengesteld via YouTube aan de WWW. (World Wide Witness), zodat ik er een mooie stamppot van kon maken, zonder erbij te zijn geweest en de ware smaak te hebben geproefd;
“Watching boats”, it’s fun, and educative, for centuries we have moved around, helped by the Wind, watch, through the eyes and cameras of many, how history passes by, fuelled by oil, that we seem to “need so badly”, beautiful it was indeed, and many have enjoyed it, that makes it worth it.
With thanks to the many, that opened their eyes and cameras through YouTube, to the WWW. (World Wide Witness), so I could Stir fry it into a Stew, without being there, tasting the real flavour;

Seoul under hottest temps in decades _ 080118
Yesterday, here in Seoul, was the second-hottest day in 24 years.
It got up to 38-point-3 degrees Celsius. But today is probably going to be even hotter... with a high of 39 degrees.
Our weather caster Lee Jee-hyun is now at Gwangwhamun Square in downtown Seoul, a place normally full of tourists and office workers.
Jeehyun, thank you for braving the heat out there for us. How are you coping,... and what are we looking at today, heat-wise?
Good morning. Today is surely not a day to be outdoors. It's only just after 10 in the morning but already temperatures have reached _____ degrees Celsius. With record breaking temperatures expected this afternoon here in Seoul, people are advised to stay indoors,
Have we not had enough of this heat? It's forecast to be the hottest day in the 111 years since weather records started back in 1907. Expected daytime highs of 39 degrees Celsius here in the capital and that's much higher than we often see in Seoul so be prepared for the heat.
Not only Seoul but most parts of the country will see boiling heat, and you might want to add a couple of degrees to the actual digits due to the blazing sunshine and high humidity.
Heatwave warnings are in place across much of the country, uncomfortable heat during the day lingers through the night...causing people to wake up at least couple of times to turn the AC on...
Highs in Seoul and Chuncheon will reach 39 degrees Celsius, Daegu and Gwangju will top out at 38 degrees.
Many are asking me if the heat will ease up, sorry, this heat will continue to bake the nation for a while longer.
Drink plenty of water, take it easy and wear sunglasses and sunblock to protect yourself from the strong sunshine.
That's all for now, but I will have more updates on our later newscast.
