Unearthing Kaapsehoop
Just a 30km drive outside the booming town of Nelspruit lies a tiny town that transports its visitors back in time. As you approach the almost unrealistically green hollow on the outskirts of an alien pine forest, a white and red sign warns motorists to drive carefully due to the wild horses roaming freely in the area.
Kaapsehoop is a popular weekend tourist destination but it is the hidden wonders that is the focus in this documentary. Join Debbie Potgieter and Pierre van Zyl (ownder of Kaapsehoop Adventures) as they tour Kaapsehoop off the beaten track.

Horseriding in Kaapsehoop
Andrew and Hannah are fascinated by the feral horses that freely traverse the mist-shrouded grasslands on the edge of a mystical escarpment...
Andrew: We finally made it to Kaapsehoop, Mpumalanga, but not before getting a little lost. Thank goodness for the friendly local local who rescued us and showed us the way. Kaapsehoop is an historic gold mining village that is famous for the wild horses that wander the unfenced grasslands around the village and neighbouring areas.

Arriving at Kaapchehoop. Quaint little town, if you can call it a town. More like a village :-). (Please excuse poor sound and video quality. Was my first attempt at doing riding videos)

Horseback riding Safari at the Wild Coast South Africa
The Wild Coast is the rugged, remote, fairly unpopulated stretch of South African coastline between East London and Port Edward. This stretch of some 280 km of cliff faces, perfect beaches and rich tidal estuaries is situated between the Mtamvuna River in the north, and the Great Kei River in the south. --

Day 6 - Nelspruit High School
Hot! Hot! Hot! Our first visit of the day was Nelspruit High School and what a great reception we received. The scholars lined the streets and entrance all the way up to thehall of the school where the Cancer.vive performance waited. Three survivors joined us on stage with our final celebration song -- two of them ex-scholars. It was a moving experience for all of us because of the participation of the audience.
Our next stop was fun and memorable. We rode through the beautiful pass surrounded by plantations to visit the town of Kaapsehoop where wild horses really still roam free. This quaint little town was a true treat with it s colourful shops, eateries and scenery. It was pancakes for all!
After the surprise and welcoming pitstop at the Caltex garage in Malelane the group split up. Linda Greef visited Nelspruit Hospital to educate nurses and doctors about early detection. A smaller survivor group went to the Selati Sugar Mill to educate the people there.
Our final destination was without a doubt the best treat of the trip. Pestana Kruger Lodge -- overlooking the Crocodile River and The Kruger National Park. A fantastic pool deck and bar set the scene for the fun night that lay ahead.Thank-you Pestana for the great food and hospitality. It was a visit full of adventure; a snake on Annies 'stoep', Karens lost luggage with passport and dollars in it, monkeys and hippos in the garden...Nicole even saw dragons...
