Rainy spell fills parched temple tanks in Chennai
While the spell of heavy rains last week in Chennai and surrounding areas led to waterlogging and inconvenienced residents, it also had a positive outcome. Most of the large temple tanks in the city and nearby districts are full of water after a long gap. The poor monsoon last year left a number of the temple tanks parched or with very little water. But now, the popular Kapaleeswarar Temple tank at Mylapore is also brimming with water. The tank at Karaneeswarar Temple in Saidapet is also on the verge of becoming full.
