Kakamega Forest the canopy of natural beauty
Kakamega Forest is an attraction not to be missed by birds and butterflies enthusiasts. The forest dubbed, Canopy of Natural Beauty, hosts over 400 birds species, 300 butterfly species, 27 snake species, seven primate species and over 350 tree species. This week on magical scenes channel one’s Irene Muchuma-Odim features tourist attraction sites in Kakamega County.

Kakamega Forest, Kenya’s only tropical rainforest is under threat from intruders despite the gallant intervention measures a lot more still needs to be done and that’s not all . Just three kilometers South of Kakamega town is the famous Ikhongo Murwe or the Crying stone believed to have supernatural powers, but the stone no longer cries.
