Kalakshetra School of Music and Dance
Here is a really interesting video about the Kalakshetra School of Music and Dance. It is located about an hour or so outside of Chennai (Madras). The school can be visited from 8:30am-11:30am. There are perfomances on select days from 6:30pm-8:30pm in their Auditorium. It is advised to call ahead before visiting.

Features dancers from Kalakshetra, the leading college of Fine Arts situated in Chennai, dedicated to the preservation of traditional values in Indian art. Founded by Smt.Rukmani Devi Arundale in 1936, today Kalakshetra is visited by art lovers from all over the world. One of the lead performers and ex-principal Krishnaveni Lakshmanan demonstrates a number to her students.

Performed by Kalakshetra students in the sylvan surroundings of their alma mater, it sincerely captures the spirit and style of the institution. Each piece is preceded by a lucid introduction by a Kalakshetra faculty member which is at once educative and informative.
