Fishing For Everyone Episode 1 in Kalbarri

There is no doubt the drive to Kalbarri is spectacular.
And the fishing there is extraordinary.
After 3 hours driving time we came across an echidna crossing in front of us.
After watching it safely cross we were back on the road.
We caught our first glimpse of the coast line and decided to head into picturesque Red Bluff.
Red Bluff is a top tourist attraction and a fishing spot for locals as well as tourists.
We then got back on the road for the short drive into Kalbarri, stopping to have a quick look at the Murchison River mouth.
Kalbarri Rock fishing is so amazing. There are so many untouched spots just waiting to get explored.
Going fishing in remote spots along the cliffs is such a thrill and the awesome feeling that you are all alone.
After a quick hike we set up the rods and waited for that elusive fish.
A short time later Daytan hooked up and started fighting his fish. He eventually landed the first spangled emperor of the day.
Then it was my turn to be smoked. And Rob took a turn at videobombing the footage!
After what felt like a long fight I was out done by a shark, taking a large chunk out of what would have been a ( 7 -8 kg) snapper.
Nigel a good mate decided to tag along for his first ever rock fishing exhibition in Western Australia.
After patiently waiting for what seemed to be forever for the fish to bite he was on. He fought the fish like a pro and with a little help from Rob landed his first ever rock based pink snapper.
All in all it was a great trip with a number of different species caught.
We can’t wait for our next trip back up to Kalbarri.
