In this video we show you Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple. Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple (Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Shiva Temple/Mandir) is an ancient temple located in the Kangra District in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at a distance of 8 km from the village of Pragpur & 10 km from Mata Jawalaji Temple, the temple is dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity, Shiva. This temple enshrines a unique ‘lingam’, a symbol of Shiva, which is found deep below the ground level. The walls of the temple are decorated with magnificent monuments and hold many antique tombs.

Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of this temple. The temple is also known as Kalesar & Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Shiva Temple. During Maha Shivratri festival as well as in the month of Shravan (Hindu Month) a huge number of devotees throng at this place. The temple is found on the bank of the River Vyas and appears as a perfect meditating spot. A Hindu Cremation Ghat is seen next to this temple.
According to the belief of the temple care takers and people around, every year at the times of monsoon, the flow of the Vyas River keeps increasing till the time it reaches itself to the Shiva Lingam. After the water reaches the Jalahri of the Shivling, it subsides.

In this video we show you Beas river near Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple. The Beas River in Manali originated from the Himalayas, passes through the kush evergreen forests and hills and ends at Punjab. It embraces with the Satluj river, before entering Pakistan. The river is the source of drinking water for the people in Kullu, Manali and Kangra regions.

The river has a tranquil environment which has incited many sages like Vashisht, Narad, Vyas, Parshuram and others into meditation in the ancient times. The River Beas, even today is said to have holy water, attracting tourists and pilgrims from all over India.

Photographers can visit the place to capture the backdrop of the large clearwater river, surrounded by timbered Hills. The nature lovers must visit the river. The poets can visit the river to contemplate in the peaceful setting. इस मंदिर में धंसता जा रहा शिवलिंग, तपस्या के बाद मां काली को मिले थे भोलेनाथ
कांगड़ा: सावन का पवित्र म‍हीना शुरू हो गया है। देवभूमि में भी हर जगह भोलेनाथ की गूंज है। हम आपको एक ऐसी जगह के बारे में बताने जा रहे हैं जिसके बारे में शायद ही आपने पहले सुना होगा। यह जगह हिमाचल के कांगड़ा देहरा के परागपुर गांव में अवस्थित श्री कालीनाथ महाकालेश्‍वर महादेव मंदिर ब्यास नदी के तट पर स्थित है। यहां पर स्‍थापित शिवलिंग भी अपने आप में अद्वितीय है। मान्यता है कि इस शिवलिंग में महाकाली और भगवान शिव दोनों का वास है। इसके समीप ही श्मशानघाट है जहां पर हिंदू धर्म के लोग अपने प्रियजनों का अंतिम संस्कार करने आते हैं। महाशिवरात्रि पर यहां बड़े पैमाने पर मेला लगता है।

ऐसे मिले मां काली को शिव
बताया जाता है कि वास्तु कला से निर्मित इस मंदिर में महादेव की पिंडी भू-गर्भ में स्थित है। मान्यता है कि मां काली ने शिव को पति के रूप में पाने के लिए यह आकर अतिंम तपस्या की थी। मां काली युद्ध के बाद शिव के मानव रूपी शव को लेकर पूरी पृथ्वी में जगह-जगह तपस्या करने लगी। शिव ने काली मां पर दया कर शर्त रखी कि जिस स्थान पर राक्षसों का खून नहीं गिरा होगा, वहीं मैं तुम्हें मिलूंगा। कालेश्वर मंदिर वही स्थान है। यहीं पर काली मां को शिव प्राप्त हुए थे। शिवलिंग के बारे में मान्यता है कि यह हर साल एक जो के दाने के बराबर पालात में धंसता जा रहा है। कालेश्वर तीर्थ स्थल के पास प्राचीन पंचतीर्थी सरोवर भी है। जहां स्नान करने से फल प्राप्त होता है। यह पंचतीर्थी तीर्थ स्थल पांडवों ने बनाया था।

मां काली के क्रोध को शांत करने के लिए पैरो में लेट गए शिव
इस पवित्र तीर्थ स्थल के दर्शनों के लिए दूर-दूर से श्रद्धालु आते हैं। पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार, जालंधर दैत्य की इस पवित्र भूमि पर महाकाली ने भगवान शंकर को खुश करने के लिए दाहिने पैर के अंगूठे के बल पर 14 हजार साल तक जाप किया। इसका जिक्र ऋग्वेद और स्कंद पुराण में है। राक्षस से युद्ध के बाद मां काली क्रोधित हो उठी थी। उनके क्रोध को शांत करने के लिए शिव उनके पैरो में लेट गए। इसके बाद उनका क्रोध शांत हो गया। पुराणों की मानें तो यहां पांडव अज्ञात वास में रहे। इसका प्रमाण यहां मौजूद है। क्योंकि पांडवों की मां ने जब स्नान की इच्छा जताई तो अर्जुन ने पहाड़ से मां गंगा को प्रकट किया। योगी शिव नंद स्वामी बताते हैं कि ये हिमाचल के तपो स्थलों में सबसे मान्य तपो स्थल है। मां चिंतपूर्णी के इर्द-गिर्द चारों तरफ रुद्र माह देव मंदिर है। उन्ही में से एक है माह कालेश्वर मंदिर।

This is the Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Shiva Temple/ Mandir situated in Village Pragpur, District Kangra, Himchal Pradesh. In the local area it is famoustly refered to as Kalesar, Kaleshwar Mahadev. It is amongst the oldest temples. Situated amongst the Himalayan mountain ranges in the Kangra District, Kaleshwar Temple is famous and has a huge rush at the times of Shiv Ratri and moderately in the Shraavan Maas/ Saawan Mahina. There are Sadhus and the common visiting this place from different parts of India all year round.

Though this temple is in a small village, however still you will find a simple staying facility, provided by the Mandir Committee, however not to mention that in rush times, they are bound to get over filled. Taxis and buses can be availed at around 7 km from the Kaleshwar temple at a place called Sadba.

Kalinath Temple is situated next to the Vyas River which not only gives this temple a grear picturesque view but even a perfect place to medidate. In the online tour of this section, observe one of the small dome shaped room with a fantastic view of the river and bank. It is perfect for isolated meditation in the open and other spiritual activities like Hawan and Puja. The temple is on the banks of river which is used as a Shamshaan Area (Cremation Area for Hindus) by the locals.

Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple-This famous temple is near Pragpur town in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh where there are ancient monuments, fine stone work and a great old mythology exists. It is said that in ancient times Pandavas visited this place and had their stay while in exile and a fresh water reserviour was unearther with the arrows of Arjuna !
