Kalgan River Mulloway

I was down south for the new years weekend and fished the Hay river and then moved onto the Kalgan. With my suprise something big took my soft plastic and lucky enough i had the go pro going!
a few minutes after i was haunted with acouple of bust offs which seemed to be more mulloway but we will never know for sure.. such an awesome feeling bringing this to the kayak. I will be back too the Kalgan to get my revenge and catch and get a photo with one of these amazing fish!

Black Bream Catch & Release - King River, Albany, Western Australia

Black bream fishing in the King and Kalgan Rivers in Albany, Western Australia in November 2018.

I had to work for that nice black bream, having mountain biked a total of around 30km for the afternoon.

Well worth it I say! (although biking back home in the dark was not fun!!)

Bream on surface lure at the Kalgan River

On my trip down south i fished the kalgan river. i was given some advice that surface lures are the way to go first light and last light so thats exactly what i did! i was using the atomic K9 hardbody lure for all the fish caught, It was my first time using surface lures and i loved it! will definitely back down south for more.
