Kalhatti Falls is a tourist spot near Ooty, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. These falls are about 13 km from Ooty, on the Ooty to Mysore Road or Sigur Ghat Road. From the Kalhatti village one has to continue for 2 miles to reach the falls and the falls is connected in the same Kalhatti village road.

We went for a weekend trip to ooty from Bangalore. When returning back from ooty it was raining heavily and our driver was pretty confident to drive on heavy rain.We dint stop him and we were enjoying the rainy ride. Suddenly we saw 1 vehicle in front of us loose the control and drifted on the slippery road.

Ooty- kalhatty Waterfalls & The Residing Cottage!
Located on the Sigur Ghat road at a distance of 13 kms from Ooty, the Kalhatty waterfalls are a sight to behold. The location at which the video has been shot can be accessed by trekking through dense foliage. A stone path and a bridge built by the erst-while British Raj also needs to be covered in order to reach the falls. But all this is worth the effort!
The second part of the video shows the cottage which was rented by us during the trip. Ooty is filed with such cottages located at the surrounding hill-sides. The cottage is a reminiscent of the Victorian style of architecture (including the interiors) and is located at the Tiger Hill road. The gusty winds and the monsoon rains & clouds adds to the beauty! Doddabetta is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills, at 2637 metres (8650 feet). There is a reserved forest area around the peak. It is 9 km from Ooty,on the Ooty-Kotagiri Road in the Nilgiris District of Tamil Nadu, South India. It is a popular tourist attraction with road access to the summit. The Chamundi Hills can be viewed from the peak.
