Kalimpong Cactus Nursery, Tagore's House, Golf Course | Kalimpong Tour & Tourist places

Kalimpong is a popular tourist spot in Darjeeling District. In this video I have explored Kalimpong's Cactus Nursery, Rabindranath Tagore's both Houses - Gauripur house and Chitra bhanu house, army golf course, Jalsha Bunglow and deorali view point.

Kalimpong Cactus Nursery: This cactus nursery is a private property. This cactus nursery is the finest and largest nursery of Asia. There are more than 200 species of cactus in this nursery. That is why this is the must visit place for the tourists who are planning a tour in Kalimpong.

Army Golf course: This is one of the beautiful places in Kalimpong. A few km from Kalimpong Town, the golf course is located near haunted Morgan house. There is a south indian canteen adjacent to the golf course. You can have south indian dishes like dosa here. This golf course is under maintenance of Indian Army. Don't miss this one.

Gauripur house: Kalimpong was a personal favourite place of Rabindranath. He lived here many years. The king of Gauripur gave this house to Rabindranath to live. He had recited poetry through Akash Bani live from this house. Now the condition of the house is deplorable.

Chitrabhanu house: After a few month Rabindranath had his own bunglow named Chitrabhanu house. He wrote many poems and novels from this house. For the lack of proper maintenance the condition of the house is also very poor. Earthquake has done a lot of damages.

Jalsha Bunglow: Jalsha bunglow is located on the way to Icche gaon, a few km from Kalimpong. It was built by the British for the officers who would come here for cinconha plantation. The nearest tourist spots from this bunglow are Icche gaon, Ramdhura, Sillery gaon etc. Icche gaon is 9 km from this place. The view of Tista river valley and Mt. Kanchenjunga is spectacular. This place is surrounded by age old pine trees. One can enjoy peace here.

Pine View Nursery KALIMPONG || CACTUS GARDEN || LARGEST IN ASIA || DARJEELING || MON JA CHAI

Pine View Nursery is a well-known nursery in Kalimpong hill station known for its exotic collection of cactus. Over 1500 species of cactus can be found here which was collected diligently from around the globe for four decades.

Mr. Mohan S Pradhan the individual behind this project and nursery left his orchid business and followed his passion for cactus. He got an opportunity to collect various species of cactus during his business trips to different parts of the world. Soon he started to raise them in his greenhouse which he built at his home.

this nursery has a wonderful display of rare and fascinating cactus imported from North and South America. Another notable aspect about this place is the fact it has the largest collection of cactus in entire Asia.

Over the years the nursery has been awarded with several national and international awards for breeding various types of cacti all at a single place. People from all over the world come to this unique nursery to witness the spectacular display of these cactus which is a treat to the eye.

Pine View Nursery is located in the outskirts of the town which usually takes few minutes to reach. There is also a resort there which provides fooding and accommodations for tourists. Kalimpong town is a two and half hours drive from NJP which is the nearest railway station at a distance of 73kms.
