Kalleske Wines – A profile by Rob Geddes MW
In South Australia's Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes since 1853 near the village of Greenock.
They are one of the region's leading grape-growing families consistently growing some of the Barossa's best quality grapes.
After six generations of growing grapes, winemaker and seventh generation family member, Troy Kalleske, together with his brother Tony, established the Kalleske winery and made the first 'Kalleske' wine.
The winery is situated on the family estate where traditional winemaking techniques ensure the vineyard realises its full potential as wine.
Rob Geddes, Master of Wine, has been immersed in every aspect of the wine industry for more than 30 years as an author, consultant, judge and educator.
After starting his career in the vineyards of the Clare Valley, Rob was the 3rd Australian to pass the rigorous International Master of Wine exams. He is one of less than 20 MWs in Australia today.
Rob is the author of long-running national wine guide, ‘Australian Wine Vintages’ (also known as the Gold Book) and ‘A Good Nose and Great Legs: the art of wine from the vine to the table’, a popular reference book to understand and enjoy wine.
Rob is a sought after public speaker, media interviewee and wine educator, regularly hosting corporate events and consumer courses for those who want to learn more about wine, wine trends and food matching.
Rob is known for his charismatic and often humorous presentation style and his encyclopaedic knowledge of wine. He is also a judge at numerous national and international wine shows.

[Wikipedia] Greenock, South Australia
Greenock is a small town on the north-west edge of the Barossa Valley. Located 66 km from Adelaide on the Sturt Highway (A20), Greenock is characterised by tree-lined streets with shady peppercorn trees which offer welcome relief from the hot summers which are characteristic of the area.
The town was named by James Smith, the secretary of George Fifie Angas, after Greenock on the Clyde River in Scotland and is sometimes called Little Scotland in the Barossa Valley. The town is also located on the famous Heysen Trail.

Hewitson Miss Harry Shiraz Grenache Blend McLaren Vale South Australia
The 2006 Miss Harry continues the success of this beautifully structured, fruit‐concentrated red wine that delivers wholeheartedly in a very approachable style.
The colour of 2006 Miss Harry is bright red with a purple hue. The aromas are high tones of ripe strawberry and red forest berries with layers of complexity.
The palate is wonderfully full, showing ripe strawberries and plums, and has a concentrated core of fruit essence with a racy acidity that gives the wine incredible vivacity. The finish is exceptionally long.
