Day 1 On a Remote Indian Island... A VERY Bad Start (Kalpeni, Lakshadweep)
Our cruise left port 13 hours late, and I got falsely accused by a crazy newlywed Punjabi woman! This certainly wasn't a good start to my Lakshadweep holiday. But luckily the entire experience only improved from there! Join me for snorkelling, exploring the stunning and tiny Kalpeni Island, and trying Lakshadweep food!
Also, because our ship left so late, they reversed the order of the islands. We visited Kalpeni, Kavaratti, and Minicoy. It was the right decision because you really want a full day on Minicoy. It's the most stunning island in Lakshadweep.

ലക്ഷദ്വീപ് ദ്വീപസമൂഹങ്ങളിൽ കൊച്ചിയോട് ഏറ്റവും അടുത്ത്‌ കിടക്കുന്ന ദ്വീപാണ് കൽ‌പേനി. കൊച്ചിയിൽ നിന്നും 287 കിലോമീറ്റർ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് മാറിയാണ് ഈ ദ്വീപ്. 2.8 കിലോമീറ്റർ നീളവും, 1.2 കിലോമീറ്റർ വീതിയുമാണ് ഈ ദ്വീപിനുള്ളത്. [1] തെക്ക് വടക്കായി സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ദ്വീപിന്റെ പടിഞ്ഞാറ് വശം ലഗൂണുകളാൽ ചുറ്റപ്പെട്ടതിനാലും, ആഴമുള്ള കിഴക്ക് ഭാഗത്ത് കടൽപ്പാലം പണിയുവാൻ സാധിക്കാഞ്ഞതിനാലും ദ്വീപിൽ കപ്പലുകൾക്കും മറ്റും കയറാൻ പറ്റിയ തുറമുഖം ഇല്ല. ലഗൂണിന് പുറത്താണ് കപ്പലുകൾ നങ്കൂരമിടുന്നത് .
