Kaluga is a city in western Russia. The Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics has exhibits on space exploration and a planetarium. Also part of the museum is the nearby Tsiolkovsky Memorial House, the former home of rocket scientist K.E. Tsiolkovsky.
The Kaluga Museum of Fine Arts displays icons, plus Russian and European paintings. Southwest, the Kwan ski resort also has summer sports facilities.

The Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics is the first museum in the world dedicated to the history of space exploration.[1] It was opened on 3 October 1967 in Kaluga, and is named after Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, a school master and rocket science pioneer who lived most of his life in this city. The driving force behind the creation of the museum was Sergei Korolyov, chief designer of RKK Energiya.
The exposition of the museum consists of two parts. The first part is dedicated to the ideas and research of Tsiolkovsky, and shows a model of the rocket designed by Tsiolkovsky as well as copies of his scientific work. The second part contains mock-ups of space craft like Sputnik 1 and samples of moon dust. Just outside the museum is a rocket park, which contains amongst others a R-7 rocket.

My Life in Russia: Marco Bravura, famous Italian mosaic artist bringing beauty to Russian province
Being born in Ravenna, the capital of Byzantine mosaics, Marco Bravura, tomorrow’s great mosaic artist, was destined for this kind of creativity from the very beginning. He started to study the art of mosaics there and then continued his education in the art academy in Venice, where he resided for 20 years. His works are on display all over the world, including the Venice Biennale and porch European, US and Middle East exhibitions. After years of traveling and working all around the world, Marco found himself in Russia, after Russian Maecenas, Ismail Akhmetov, who wanted to restore the modern art of mosaics in Russia, had invited him. And after living here for 12 years, Marco and his wife Daniela have invested a lot into making the small town of Tarusa in the Kaluga region a real center for art and culture, restoring art school for children, a private culture house for concerts and modern art expos, as well as bringing the art of Italian mosaics to Russian culture and everyday life.
Together with this famous Italian artist, we dive into the forgotten art of Italian mosaics and explore the extraordinary world of beauty that the artist creates in the small Russian city every day with his own hands. “In Russia, I’ve found something that I can’t even express: the freedom to express myself, and a lot of inspiration that comes from Tarusa, the city of poets and artists, the Russian intelligentsia!”
We also visit the residence of Vassily Polenov, the famous Russian artist and draw the parallels between the Italian contemporary artist of our days living in Russia and the classics of Russian art from those who settled in the region 100 years ago.

Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs found paintings worth €103,000 ($114,000) which were stolen from an art gallery, in the Kaluga region, Wednesday.

My town
Shakhunya is a small town in the north of Nizhegorodskaya region. It's population is about 22 thousand people. It is known as a big railway station. It is famous for the Milk Plant, the Art Factory, sport centre Atlant. There are three secondary schools, the gymnazium, technical secondary school in the town.

Olga Vorobyeva was born in Moscow. In 2002 she graduated from the Moscow Gnessin School of Music (under Tatyana Vorobyeva), after receiving the honores diploma continued her studies in the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music. In 2007 she graduated from the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music, receiving the honorous diploma and in 2010 completed her post-graduate course at the Gnessin Academy of Music where she studied with professor Margarita Volkova. Since 2006 O. Vorobyeva has taught the course of accompanement in the Gnessin School of music.
Olga Vorobyeva is a prize-winner at the competition for receiving the Alexander Skriabin scholarship and winner the special Vsevolod Buyukly prize for the best performance of Alexander Skriabin’s works (1995). Among other scholarship-holders recorded various works by Alexander Skriabin (CD “Melody Company”).
Olga Vorobyeva reawarded with the diploma at The Second H.Neuhaus International Moscow Festival of young pianists (1998). In 2005 in the trio became prize-winner (under professor Leonid Blok) at The Second Sergey Taneev International competition of chamber music in Kaluga, Russia. With other scholarship-holders of the competition for receiving the Alexander Skriabin scholarship she was touring with solo recitals in Salzburg (Austria) and Paris (France), 2007 /The Festival of A.Sriabin’s 125 Anniversary/, and in Poland (Warszawa – 2009, 2010, Krakow and Poznan – 2010).
From 1996 Olga Vorobyeva every year gives solo performances at the Alexander Skriabin Moscow Memorial museum and permanent participant in concerts at the composer’s piano. She gives also solo and ensemble performances in concert halls at the Russian Gnessin Academy of Music, in the Small Hall in the Central House of artists, in the Sergey Rachmaninov’s society, in the Anna Golubkina’s studio (branch of the Tretyakovskaya Gallery), Central House of scientists.
