TOP 10 PLACES TO GO IN ROPPONGI
Top 10 Places to Go in Roppongi
1. Spider Statute in Roku Roku- This is the largest spider statute in the world. The statute measures an astounding 30 feet tall and it was designed by a French Artist Louis Bourgeois.
2. Tokyo City View- If you want to see the city of Tokyo from the top of a building, the Tokyo City View is the definitely the place. You not only will see Roppongi, but also Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower, and even the magnificent Mount Fuji on a clear day. I have written extensively about the Tokyo Skytree. You can check out my website at the travelingtheworld.online. 3. Mori Building- If you love art like me, the Mori art museum is a must while visiting Roppongi. There are a myriad of arts in this place. You will even find several robot projects and their history in this art museum.
4. Tsu Ton Tan Restaurant- If you love seafood and udon noodles, you must try this delicious restaurant. The monster size bowls and reasonable prices draw people all over the world to this place.
5. Harry's Hedgehog cafe. There are several hedgehog cafes in Tokyo. One of them is in Roppongi. These cute creatures have about 5,000 to 7,000 spines. You have the option to feed the hedgehogs at the cafe.
6. Sakurazaka park- During the months of March and April, this park is covered with cherry blossoms. The park offers some slides that are not only fun for kids to go down but adults as well.
7. Aoyama Cemetery- Thought this is a cemetery, I could not resist the opportunity to view the cherry blossoms in this area. When I was at the Tokyo City View, there was one area that was covered with cherry blossoms. I would definitely visiting here during March and April.
8. Mohri Garden- This garden has a very unique history. A fish called the Medaka fish or Japanese killfish was physically taken into space in 1994. Over 10,000 Medaka fish were released into the pond.
9. Gonpachi Restaurant- this is a very famous restaurant for two reasons: (1) The restaurant was featured in the first Kill Bill movie produced in 2003. (2) In 2002, Prime Minister Koizumi brought President George Bush to the restaurant for dinner. I would highly recommend the soba noodles and tempura there. The restaurant also sells sushi, oysters, soup, and other foods. The waiters and waitresses were extremely nice and while waiting for a table, the hostess will hand you some free alcohol in a shot glass.
10. Cafe Crepe- You're Roppongi trip is not complete without trying a cherry blossom crepe. I had the special and seasonal crepe, which contained cherry blossoms, green tea, and cream cheese. It was oishii.
