Kamal Basti is in fort area of Belgaum city, about 1.5 km for bus stand. It is a good place for spiritual gain and mind relaxation. It is one of the attractions in Belgavi city.

बेळगाव किल्ला कर्नाटक
गाव/तालुका/जिल्हा : बेळगाव, समुद्रसपाटीपासून उंची 723 मीटर, प्रकार : भुईकोट.
बेळगावचा किल्ला हा १२ व्या शतकांतील किल्ला रट्टा साम्राज्यातील बीची राजा यांनी बांधला.
आता शहराच्या मधोमध असलेला हा किल्ला काही भाग मिलिटरीच्या ताब्यात आहे.
बेळगाव किल्ल्यावर अनेक साम्राज्यांनी राज्य केले व तसे हा किल्ला बदलतही गेला, वर्चस्वासाठी झालेले स्थानिक अनेक युद्ध या किल्ल्याने पहिले.
१२०४ मध्ये किल्ला बांधला गेला
१३३६ मध्ये विजयनगर साम्राज्यामध्ये हा किल्ला गेला.
१४७४ मध्ये बहामनी सुलतानेत बिदर यांच्या ताब्यात गड गेले.
१५११ मध्ये आदिलशाही नि बेळगाव जहांगिरी बनवली
१६८६ मध्ये मुघल औरंगजेबने बिजापूर सुलतानेत ला हरवून किल्ला ताब्यात घेतला.
१७०७ मध्ये औरंगजेब मृत्यू नंतर याचा ताबा शूर मराठ्यांकडे आला.
१७७६ मध्ये म्हैसूरच्या हैदर अली ने हा किल्ला काही काळापुरता जिंकला.
नंतर पेशवा व ब्रिटिश यांनी एकत्र हैदर अली ला हरवले.
१८१८ मध्ये कित्तूरच देसाई शिवलिंगा राजू यान ब्रिटिशाना फितूर होऊन त्यांना पेशवा विरुद्ध मदत केली व पेशवान कडून हा किल्ला घेतला.
ब्रिटिशांनी बक्षिसे म्हणून कित्तूर राजू ला बेळगाव शहर व किल्ल्यावर राज्य करण्यास परवानगी दिली.

अंडाकृती आकारात असलेला हा किल्ल्याला सभोवती मोठी तटबंधी व त्याला लागून लांब व खोल अशी खंदक आहेत. खंदकापासून बुरुज हे ३२ फूट उंच होते, किल्ल्याचा आतील भाग हा ९१० मीटर लांब तर ८०० मीटर रुंद होता.
या भुईकोटला 2 दरवाजे आहेत. किल्ल्यामध्ये हिंदू, जैन व मुस्लिम कलाकुसर पुरातन वास्तूंवर दिसून येते.
किल्ल्यामध्ये प्रवेशद्वार , तटबंधी, खंदक , कमळ बस्ती, चिक्की बस्ती पुरातन वास्तू पाहण्यासारखं आहेत.
कमळ बस्ती मध्ये गेला कि मंदिरामध्ये छतावर असलेले कमळ पाहायला विसरू नका.

10th-century Jain temple, the Kamal Basti with Neminatha idol in black stone is a must-see temple.

It is known for the masterpiece, ‘Mukhamantapa’, featuring a ceiling carved in the design of a lotus flower.
