Destination Yokohama: Hiking in Japan Day Trip on the Rokkokutoge Trail to Kamakura
Rokkokutoge hiking course in on the muira peninsula in Kanagawa Japan. I started my hike at Kanazawa Bunko station but there are many different enterences. You can hike to Kamakura and connect to the Ten-en trail if you like to stretch this into a longer trail. My hike was to Konnadai station where I caught the bus back to Kamiooks but it's up to you which twists and turns you make of your day hike. It's a great adventure, hiking in Japan! Please give it a try.

#16 【旧東海道】神奈川宿から保土ヶ谷宿まで歩く（ノーカット版）※踏切トラブルあり
神奈川宿から保土ヶ谷宿まで、旧東海道を歩きました。距離としては、5キロ程度なので、寄り道しなければ１時間程度で歩ける距離です。江戸時代は海岸線を通っていたとは思えないほど、埋め立てによる海の陸地化が進み、現在の風景は昔とはまったく違いますが、今でも街道沿いの所々に、重要な史跡が点在しています。ゴールの保土ヶ谷宿本陣跡の直前の踏切でトラブルがあり、電車が踏切をふさいで２０分くらい立ち往生したため、その部分だけカットして繋いであります。
I walked through the Old Tokaido Road from Kanagawa-juku to Hodogaya-juku in Yokohama. The Old Tokaido Road was built 400 years ago during Edo period to connect the capital city Edo (Tokyo) with Kyoto. There were 53 stations between Edo (Tokyo) and Kyoto. Kanagawa-juku was the 3rd and Hodogaya-juku was the 4th from the starting point Nihonbashi.

Yokohama (Japanese: 横浜, Hepburn: Yokohama, pronounced [jokohama] (listen)) is the second largest city in Japan by population, and the most populous municipality of Japan. It is the capital city of Kanagawa Prefecture. It lies on Tokyo Bay, south of Tokyo, in the Kantō region of the main island of Honshu. It is a major commercial hub of the Greater Tokyo Area.
Yokohama developed rapidly as Japan's prominent port city following the end of Japan's relative isolation in the mid-19th century, and is today one of its major ports along with Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, Hakata, Tokyo, and Chiba.
