Kanazawa Walking Tours: Meet The Masters (Reiki)
Kanazawa Walking Tours introduces the Reiki master, Fumi Koji. Join us as we explore the soothing and enlightening practice of Reiki.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by laying on hands and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. (1)
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. (1)
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. (1) (
Reiki sessions with Fumi can now be booked exclusively with Kanazawa Walking Tours as part of our personalised experience tours.

Kanazawa Walking Tours׃ Meet The Masters (Ceramics)
Kanazawa Walking Tours continues its series of introducing Kanazawa's finest artisans to the world. Our 'Meet The Masters' team introduce the 11th generation ceramics artisan Ohi-san.
Ohi san comes from a long line of Ceramics specialists, his ancestors were originally summoned from Kyoto by Lord Maeda, a prominent samurai and generous supporter of the arts. His ancestors were invited to stay and work for the Maeda clan in Kanazawa, 11 generations later they are still serving the clan and the city.
Specialising in ceramic ware, such as tea ceremony items and incense cases the family have thrived in their Kanazawa residence, still standing today near Higashi Chaya.
Ohi-san can be met on our exclusive 'Meet The Masters' tours available at

Day Out in Kanazawa! Japan April 2018
Hey everyone! Today is our first full day of our Japan April 2018 trip and we're spending the whole day in Kanazawa! Kanazawa is a large city on the northern shore of Japan's main island (Honshu). We visited a Ninja Temple (but what kind of Ninja Temple?!), one of Japan's most beautiful gardens, Kanazawa Castle Park, and ate at the classically named Godburger! Thanks so much for watching! More trains and Matsumoto in the next vlog!

Kanazawa Higashi Chaya District Japan ????????
A chaya (lit. teahouse) is an exclusive type of restaurant where guests are entertained by geisha who perform song and dance. During the Edo Period, chaya was found in designated entertainment districts, usually just outside the city limits. Kanazawa has three, well-preserved chaya districts, Higashi Chayagai (Eastern Chaya District), Nishi Chayagai (Western Chaya District) and Kazuemachi.
Of the three districts, the Higashi Chaya District (東茶屋街, Higashi Chayagai) is the largest and by far the most interesting. Two chaya, the Shima Teahouse, and Kaikaro Teahouse are open to the public. Other buildings along the central street now house cafes and shops. One of the shops, Hakuza, sells gold leaf products, a specialty of Kanazawa, and displays a tea ceremony room which is completely covered in gold leaf. ????????

Kanazawa Tea Ceremony (2019)
Kanazawa Walking Tours offers exclusive private access to authentic tea ceremony experiences. This clip is taken in Kanazawa at the oldest tea house in the castle town.
In Kanazawa, the tea ceremony culture prospered under the encouragement of successive lords, and the culture to savour tea became widespread even among local citizens by the 17th century. Saisetsu-tei is one of the oldest tea ceremony rooms in Kanazawa located in the Nishida Family's Private Garden. It is known for its history which is 120 years older than Kenroku-en (one of Japan's three famous gardens). There, you can experience a private tea ceremony while enjoying the beautiful garden.
Private tea ceremony experiences available upon request. Contact us at kanazawa-tours.com for appointments.
