Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.

The Kandy Lake Club Cultural Dance Show is a stimulating Sri Lankan Arts, Dance & Cultural Heritage Show that is a must see for any visitor who visits the historic city of Kandy. The Kandy Lake Club Dance started in 1982 with the view of having a cultural dance performance bringing together all Sri Lankan dance types to one platform. It is the first Cultural Dance Show of its kind to be established in Sri Lanka. It has since become a tourist attraction for many people visiting the country and keen on a glimpse of its rich cultural heritage. Hence it has been performing continuously for the last 35 years.

Being based next to Temple of the Tooth this is an artificial lake built in 1807 by the Royal King of Sri Lanka.
The whole walk is around 2.1 mile, One of the greatest attraction and a must do for the visitors of the hill country, The lake is also known as the Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk and is an artificial lake.

KANDY LAKE (THE SEA OF MILK)
Kandy is the second largest city of Sri Lanka, renowned for its healthy atmosphere and beautiful scenery, Temple of the Tooth and Kandy Lake. Kandy Lake is also called Kiri Muhuda or the Sea of Milk. The lake was built in 1807 by King Wikram Rajasinghe. It is the best place for recreation in Kandy and is like a jewel in the neck of a queen. Because of its vicinity to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, the most sacred temple in Sri Lanka, the lake is also regarded as a sacred place. Romantic couples throng to the lake in the evenings because of its attraction and cool atmosphere.
