Ilulissat Icefjord in Greenland
In the second part of my Greenland video series, I will take you to the incredibly stunning Ilulissat Icefjord, a beautiful bay full of icebergs and also the location of my all time favorite campsite! Heading up even further north on a boat, we also got very close to Eqi Glacier and witnessed some calving icebergs.

Fly Fishing in Greenland for Searun Arctic Char - Kangia River Lodge
Located at the rivermouth of the Kangia River, Solid Adventure’s Kangia River Lodge is majestically situated, overlooking both pristine sea- and freshwaters. Kangia River, known for its strong run of searun Arctic Char has been a well-kept secret amongst local anglers and a few adventurous fly fishermen who have pilgrimaged to the hunting camp in search for some of the biggest char on Greenland’s West-Fjords. The fishing for these supercharged Anadromous Char has improved drastically since commercial fishing has been banned and along with these improvements, Solid Adventures has been granted the exclusive rights to build an operation in pair with all our famous other premises worldwide. On top of the unbelievable fishing for searun char we will also offer our guests to try fishing for cod and halibut in the fish rich fjords next to our camp. Helicopter - Kangia Classic - Ilulissat
This excursion is the only option to get all the way to the heart of the UNESCO-area. Neither by boat or by foot is it possible to get this close to the gigantic glacier.
Ilulissat Glacier is the most productive glacier, not only in Greenland, but in the northern hemisphere. The glacier is 7 kilometres wide and more than 1 kilometre steep. It produces 43 million tons of ice and moves about 50 metres a day. It is an amazing sight to see this infinite amount of ice and experience the enormous power of nature.
The helicopter takes off from Ilulissat Airport and flies, as low as safety permit, crossing hills, lakes and ice fiords.
We land in the middle of the preserved area, and for half an hour we are going to enjoy the greatness of the wonderful nature surrounding us.
We fly above the edge of the glacier and the icebergs in the icefiord on the ride back to Ilulissat. Some of the biggest icebergs strand on a moraine underneath the water just outside town, and it makes a perfect climax to this excursion.
A helicopter flight is per definition a great experience, and combined with the scenery in these surroundings, the excursion is an absolute classic.

Ilulissat Icefjord
We hike to the Kangia- Icefjord - where it meets Disko Bay south of the Greenland town of Ilulissat. The Ilulissat Icefjord runs west 60kms from the Greenland ice sheet to the bay. At its eastern end is the Jakobshavn Isbræ (Sermeq Kujalleq) glacier, the most productive glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, flowing at a rate of 20–35 m per day, resulting in around 20 billion tonnes of icebergs calved off and passing out of the icefjord every year
Icebergs breaking from the glacier are often so large —up to a kilometer in height— that they are too tall to float down the fjord and lie stuck on the bottom of its shallower areas, sometimes for years, until they are broken up by the force of the glacier and icebergs further up the fjord. On breaking up the icebergs emerge into the open sea and initially travel north with ocean currents, before turning south and running into the Atlantic Ocean. Larger icebergs typically do not melt until they reach 40-45 degrees north —further south than the United Kingdom and level with New York City.

Greenland: Peace of Ilulissat Fjord (Movie of Pictures}
PEACE OF ILULISSAT FJORD:
This is actually not movie but Movie of Pictures
Purpose what I've tried to achieved here was making making each shot as a still picture with small moving subject inside.
And by the way -- the atmosphere in fjord was really peaceful.
All what you can see there are Icebergs -- it is not front of the Ilulissat Glacier which is some 60 km back.
While watching first picture and comparing size of the iceberg and the boat I can't resist thought of Titanic (since critical iceberg in Titanic case according local opinions almost certainly came from Ilulissat Glacier).
