Osaka International Peace Center - Osaka, Japan
The Osaka International Peace Center is a museum focusing on the destruction of the city during the second World War.
I accidentally stumbled upon the place and thought it would be worth checking out. It doesn't take too long to explore, but it's packed with artifacts and displays. While it was upsetting to see the impact of the air raids, it was very educational.
If you visit #Osaka, I'd put this place on the list.

World Campus experience the bamboo forest in Omuta.
Today we went to the bamboo forest. Michael talks about his experience with cutting down grass and bambo trees, followed by crafting utensils and toys out of bamboo. We were also lucky enough, to see a traditional Japanese performence (drumming, and singing in Kimonos.)

Arriving in Osaka
みんなさん、日本からこんにちは!(Hello from Japan, everyone!)
Well, we made it to Osaka!
The only footage I got on the (super boring) plane rides was after the 9th hour on our way from Vancouver to Osaka. Breakfast time!
It wasn't bad: the 'breakfast burrito' was actually a soft pita-like bread filled with melty, gooey Brie cheese and some sliced onions. It was pretty good, but super messy! There was also some salted almonds and a Lindt milk chocolate bar. Yum.
[Don't mind Robert - he tried sleeping sooo much on the plane in order to make time go by faster.] The problem was, we were arriving around 3:30pm, so we'd have to go back to bed in six hours! I decided to stay up as much as I could. [I ended up sleeping from 10pm to around 4am, then 7am to 9:30am - not bad for a time adjustment!]
I couldn't record or take pictures of the lonnnnng customs procedures, but overall it did take us about an hour to receive our Residence Cards (aka Gaijin Cards) and go through the tight security.
It was funny, though: when we had to go through the 'customs declaration' at the very end - where they randomly select passengers to screen their luggage - the officer took one look at my two huge suitcases and asked, Are you a foreign exchange student? [in Japanese] I responded Yes and he motioned me through without delay. They must know the enormous amount of random stuff we pack to stay for a long while. Who'd want to go through that?
The Osaka Gakuin University staff met each of us and placed us on different buses to go to our respective residences (host family, dorms, apartments, etc). It cost me about $17 for a 80min ride (not bad).
And yes, I was very, very scared the whole time. My Japanese needed to improve five months ago. Hence the selfie at 2:25 .
Anyways, that's all for now. A lot more to come later!

Muslin Kimono fashon show in Osaka Museum of Housing and Living
Muslin Kimono fashion show in Osaka Museum of Housing and Living
In Japan, muslin refers to plain weave sheer wool .
Muslin is a warm soft thin clothing material , that was popular in the era of the Meiji and Taisho by cuteness of the pattern and the use of color and pop.
This fashion show made by students of art university and volunteer citizens.
Students made Kimono by dyeing challenge, and citizens walked for show.
This was very at home atmosphere and cozy and relaxing show.
There are old age's Osaka cityscape's reproduction, the venue gave good influence for the show.
