THE RED STAGE presents BARRY CHARLES - Sunday 31st March 2019 - MACLEAY ISLAND
THE RED STAGE is happy to announce our FIRST RED STAGE EVENT for 2019 presenting BARRY CHARLES. Not just another singer, Barry Charles is a man with an extraordinary voice. Regarded as one of the most innovative vocalists around today, he exhibits his five octave range with powerful textures of tone and emotion.
Barry’s performances mesmerise with deep blues grooves and wildly free improvised vocal scatting. His legendary vocal range (from Tibetan Monk lows, to Motown heights), is accompanied by his driving blues rhythms.
He selects his songs carefully, with an eclectic mix of his originals and selected album covers which he gives with his own unique interpretation. His song-writing touches the soul with observations of life, love, fantasy and humour.
Here are some pics of friends enjoying past RED STAGE events. If you'd like to join us, look for our Group Page THE RED STAGE, click join, and drop me a PM with your name so we can add you. These events are by personal invitation only so you must book a spot if you are wanting to attend.
THE RED STAGE presents: STEVE TYSON & THE TRAIN REX
THE RED STAGE is so excited to present STEVE TYSON & THE TRAIN REX on SUNDAY 18th August 2019 at Kara-Mia's Mosaic's Gallery - 2 Columbia Street, Macleay Island. “STEVE TYSON” has travelled the world, taking his music to Europe on eight tours and playing at some of the great international roots festivals. Steve writes contemporary folk songs infused with blues; intimate story-telling one minute, swaggering alt/country the next, but decidedly Australian in content. He has released three critically acclaimed records in Australia, scoring 4 star reviews in the national music press.
Steve’s band includes Rough Red bassist John Barr, Sydney drummer Andy Kirkcaldie, and Brisbane-based guitarist Ian Shawsmith. Equally at home performing in stripped-back acoustic mode, or playing the late night party set, The Train Rex’s favourite shows reveal both sides of the band. They are releasing a series of new tracks during 2019.
Send a request to join The Red Stage via Facebook if you would like to attend. This event is by invitation only.
