വയനാട് അഡ്വന്‍ജറസ് ക്യാമ്പിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള പ്രധാന സാഹസിക വിനോദ സഞ്ചാര കേന്ദ്രമാണ് കര്‍ലാട് തടാകം. വയനാട് തിരിയോട് പഞ്ചായത്തില്‍ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ തടാക തീരത്ത് താമസിക്കാനായി കോട്ടേജുകളും ഉണ്ട്. ബാണാസുര സാഗര്‍ അണക്കെട്ടില്‍ നിന്നും മൂന്നു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെയാണ് കര്‍ലാട് തടാകം. വയനാട് അഡ്വന്‍ജറസ് ക്യാമ്പിന്റെ നിയന്ത്രണം ജില്ലാ ടൂറിസം പ്രമോഷന്‍ കൗണ്‍സിലിലാണ്.
Wayanad Adventure Camp Karalad Lake is located in Thariode, Wayanad. It is the third largest fresh water lake in Kerala and second largest lake in Wayanad after Pookode Lake. The lake is 3 km away from Banasura Sagar Dam. Ziplining, boating, kayaking, rock climbing, and Zorbing are among the tourist attractions. There is also a handicrafts and spices emporium. Corporate events are also held here along with tents and cottages for visitors.
Wayanad Adventure Camp is administered by D.T.P.C (District Tourism Promotion Council) Wayanad.
Wayanad is a rural district in Kerala state, southwest India. In the east, the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is a lush, forested region with areas of high altitude, home to animals including Asiatic elephants, tigers, leopards and egrets. In the Ambukuthi Hills to the south, Edakkal Caves contain ancient petroglyphs, some dating back to the Neolithic age.
Wayanad's rich history stretches back to the Neolithic Age, with the Edakkal Caves being one of the oldest signs of human settlement to be discovered. The caves seem to have been inhabited by several human settlersover the course of time. Even though very little is known about these ancient settlers, the cave paintings at Edakkal, the burial sites discovered around the caves, and the ancient earthenware found within are proof of their existence.
The region is home to some of the oldest temples in India and also played a pivotal role in the worldwide spice trade. In fact it was the legendary spice gardens of Wayanad that prompted the European powers to establish direct sea routes to India. Many a war has been fought for the dominion of this lucrative trade. Even now the best pepper in the world comes from Wayanad's green slopes.

This video shows the beauty of Wayanad in Kerala, India. I did a family trip to wayanad recently and thought that I should post it here. The places we visited includes Banasura dam, Karlad lake, edakkal caves and we stayed at a nice cozy homestay.

Banasura Sagar Dam, which impounds the Karamanathodu tributary of the Kabini River, is part of the Indian Banasurasagar Project consisting of a dam and a canal project started in 1979. The goal of the project is to support the Kakkayam Hydro electric power project and satisfy the demand for irrigation and drinking water in a region known to have water shortages in seasonal dry periods.
