And I had a grandfather who spent three years here, helping his sister to build the coffee plant. It has been a dream for me to once visit her farm outside Nairobi in Kenya. A couple of months ago, my dream came through....

Our first tour type experience here in Nairobi--we went to the Karen Blixen Museum (the namesake for the town we live in, Karen). She was the author of the book Out of Africa and lived in Karen in an attempt to start a coffee plantation, but at the altitude it completely failed.... also her lover crashed and died in the Ngong hills near which is tragic...basically her life was all tragic. And she had syphilis. Go watch the movie staring Meryl Streep

Karen Blixen Museum is the only house museum in Kenya and one of the most visited in the country.The museum was once the home of the Danish Baroness and novelist famed for writing ''Out of Africa''.
