Trout fishing on lures - Victorian school holiday fun - Karkarook Lake

A quick view of the Victorian Fisheries great work on Trout stocking in a small family lake called Karkarook in Melbourne's SE suburbs. There are a long list of lakes just like this, all stocked in time for school holidays across Victoria, thanks to Fisheries. Although most of the fish are not huge, its still a lot of fun and great way to introduce kids or newbies into fishing on some feisty Rainbow Trout.

Catching More Redfin At Karkarook Park

So i was supposed to cook the redfin ages ago but i decided why not cook up some fresh ones so i waited till the weather cleared up and went out with my friends and gut hooked nugget sized redfin the whole video itself was to long so i split it in half sacrificing some funny footage NOTE: I normally don't keep fish that small but they all swallowed the hook so i couldn't release them

Victorian Fisheries Stocking Cod At Karkarook Lake! (500 Murray Cod Released!)

After fishing at karkarook lake for over 2 years i've always wanted to see the fisheries stock up the lake. As you all saw I was super hyped seeing so many Murray Cod it was my first time seeing and holding one.

Massive thanks to the VFA for stocking up the lake these past few years i'm sure those cod will have no problem breeding! If you are new to my channel please do press the subscribe button it will help my channel out so much!

Karkarook Fishing

Karkarook Park is great little lake and location to spend a couple of hours fishing in Melbourne. The park has a walking track around the lake, information on the history of the site, there are several BBQs and good amounts of open grass for other activities.

The lake is stocked with trout.

I've had most luck with tassie devil lures. Baits including worms, corn and powerbait are popular here.

Best times are morning and late afternoon. However I often fish during the day and get results.

Easter break is here, the lake has been stocked! NOW is the perfect time to fish Karkarook Lake. After changing many lures, I finally found a lure that fired up the action!
After catching some trout I explored another section of the lake to chase redfin!
