Walking in UPPSALA / Sweden ????????- 4K 60fps (UHD)
Uppsala is a city North of Stockholm / Sweden. The Uppsala University was founded in the 15th century and which is the oldest in Sweden and Nordic countries still in operation.
We arrive at the Uppsala Central Station with little time on hand and start a speedy walking tour from there.
First, we see the inner city with some shoppings streets on this winter day. One attraction of Uppsala is the Uppsala Castle (Uppsala Slott) built by Gustav Vasa in 1549. We walk along the Fyris river and then uphill until we can enjoy the view up there over the town.
After circling the castle we go downhill again we have a minute to see the Uppsala Cathedral before we head back to the city centre. We end our tour where we started at the train station.

Note: one cut around 35:02 due to full memory card. The walk had to be rather fast due to a flight

Kastellholmen is part of the Royal National City Park.
Stockholm, Walk in the City Center - Sweden 4K Travel Channel
The starting point for our city walk in Stockholm is the central station. On the opposite side is the World Trade Center, a huge shopping center. But for the moment, we are not in the mood for shopping. We want to get an overview of the city. Thus we go along the Klarabergsgatan to the Sergels torg. The large square is an ideal meeting place. Here is also the tourist info. We get a map and brochures about the sights.
Klara Church - Santa Clara kyrka
The inner courtyard of the church grounds forms a green lung in the inner city. It is quiet here and you can quickly shake off the stress of the city.
The area once housed a convent, but this was torn off in 1527, by order of Gustav Wasa, the king of Sweden at the time. Afterward one erected the Klara church. But it was only after a renovation in 1751 that it got its present appearance. The church steeple is 116 m of high and the second highest building in Scandinavia, after the cathedral in Uppsala. It is the also fifth highest building of Sweden.
Gamla Stan
Through the pedestrian zone (Drottninggatan and Riksgatan) we reach the Gamla Stan, the old town of Stockholm. Now we see why Stockholm is also called the Venice of the North. Gamla Stan is an island which is connected to another small island, the island of Helgeandsholmen (Holy Spirit Island). Here is the Parliament House, Riksdagshuset. Two monumental gates connect the parliament house with the half-round assembly room situated in the west.
Many bridges cross the channels separating Gamla Stan from business district Norrmalm. Norrmalm is also called Stockholm City.
Directly after the parliament building, we come across the imposing Stockholm Palace. We will visit the palace on another day.
From the Strombron, a wide road bridge, we have a great view over the Grand Hotel Stockholm. It is always flagged with the flags of the countries of origin of their guests. If you only see Swedish flags, then the hotel accommodates state visitors, e.g. at the Nobel Prize Ceremony.
Further west, we see the Royal Opera, Kungliga Operan. It was the place of the assassination of King Gustav III, during a masked ball on March 16th, 1792.

2009-07-02 SL X10 -5- Karlberg - Helenelund
These videos are from July 2009. I wanted to get some good video on a nice sunny day of the rail line from Södertälje to as far north as I could with the time available I had for the day and the X10 trains as they have openable windows and will become more and more scarce as they are retired. I managed to make it as far as Helenelund.
Sorry for the windy audio in these videos as I do not have an external mountable mic nor a wind sock. This video is pretty much just for the video as the audio is pretty useless outside the stations.

Stockholm Walks: City Hall to Riddarholmen (For treadmill, relaxing, exploring. Ambient sound)
Stockholm City Hall is where you go to collect your Nobel Prize. Or, as the couple we get a glimpse of here, to get married. Also a great spot for a pic nic or just a stroll. From there we walk along the water to Riddarholmen, the Knights´Islet, passed the middle age Cathedral before I run out of battery looking towards the hills of Södermalm. Filmed in August, about 7 pm.
Central Station in stockholm Sweden, suburban commuter rail network called Pendeltåg.
Central Station in stockholm Sweden, Suburban rail[edit]
Stockholm also has a suburban commuter rail network called Pendeltåg. Reaching 53 stations, including Uppsala, Knivsta and Bålsta in Uppsala län (county), plus Gnesta in Södermanlands län (county). There are four lines:
35: (Bålsta) - Kungsängen - Stockholm C - Västerhaninge - (Nynäshamn)
36: Märsta - Stockholm C - Södertälje C
37: Södertälje C - Gnesta (connects with line 36 at Södertälje hamn)
38: Uppsala - Arlanda Airport - Stockholm C - Älvsjö - (Tumba).
Off-peak sees 4 tph (trains per hour) on lines 35 and 36 (2 tph in the bracketed sections), 2 tph on line 38 (only peak services run Älvsjö-Tumba) and 1 tph on line 37. Additional services run during peak hours, giving the core section Karlberg - Älvsjö a peak frequency of 14 tph.
In the north-east, the Roslagsbanan narrow-gauge rail network connects the central Östermalm district with suburbs in the Danderyd, Täby, Vallentuna and Österåker municipalities.
27: Stockholms östra - Roslags Näsby - Ormsta - (Lindholmen - Kårsta)
28: Stockholms östra - Roslags Näsby - Åkersberga - (Österskär)
29: Stockholms östra - Djursholms Ösby - Näsbypark
Off-peak sees 4 tph (1-2 tph in the bracketed section) on lines 27 and 28, 2 tph on line 29. The station Stockholms östra is directly adjacent to T-Tekniska högskolan on the red line towards Mörby centrum.
Saltsjöbanan starts adjacent to T-Slussen and reaches the suburbs Saltsjöbaden and Solsidan, south-east of the city.
Suburban trains are included in Stockholm's transport ticket system, with the exception of Knivsta and Uppsala on line 38, which employ Uppsala's local transport fares. It costs 60 SEK (35 SEK for youth) to get there if you already have an SL travelcard.
Light rail, tram, bus and ferry[edit]
A bus on line 69 in Stockholm
Tvärbanan is a light rail line connecting the western and southern suburbs with a new section forming a 3/4 loop around Stockholm.
Lidingöbanan connects Ropsten on Östermalm to Lidingö. This line provides a scenic view at the end of Lidingö across the archipelago. Several ferry services also call at Gåshaga brygga at the end of the line.
Nockebybanan in the western suburbs connects the district of Nockeby to Alvik on the green line of the Tunnelbana. The buses heading to Drottningholm Palace call at Nockeby (although in practice, taking the bus from Brommaplan on the green line of the Tunnelbana is more efficient) as well as passing through the quaint garden-city of Bromma.
Spårväg City is a city tram connecting Norrmalmstorg to Waldemarsudde on the Djurgården island, as serving the Nordiska Museet, Gröna Lund and Skansen.
Buses serve most populated areas where rail does not reach. Four inner city main lines numbered from 1 to 4 are operated by large blue buses (weekdays every 3-10 minutes), the other, generally less frequent lines (weekdays 7-20 minutes), by red buses.
There are also ferries going to Djurgården and Skeppsholmen. Bus and light rail is included in any SL ticket or pass, and travel with the Djurgården ferry is included with any 24- or 72-hour pass, 7-day pass as well as the monthly pass. Suburban ferries, airport buses, the Arlanda Express and regional trains are not part of the SL network, and thus not included in any of these tickets.
There's an SL ferry called Sjövägen that runs between Nybroplan and Frihamnen with stops at Allmänna gränd (Djurgården), Saltsjöqvarn, Finnboda and Kvarnholmen in Nacka, Blockshusudden (DjurgårdBeautiful places to travel to game :
