Karlovo, historic town and home of Vasil (the Lion) Levski
Karlovo is an historic town and home to Vasil Levski, Bulgarian hero and the man responsible for the name of the Bulgarian currency....the Lev.
Karlovo lies on the northern route between Sofia and Burgas and is nestled at the foot of the Balkan mountains...'Stara Planina' to the Bulgarians. Karlovo is home to a daily market and has a laid back feel to it, with many cafes surrounding the main square and dotted around in the leafy shade of Karlovo's old town. The old town itself is well worth a visit to get a feel for how Bulgaria looked at the turn of the century...many of the narrow streets and renovation period houses still remain.

Kàrlovo ( búlgaro : Карлово ) é uma cidade pitoresca e historicamente importante no centro da Bulgária, localizada em um vale fértil ao longo do rio Stryama, no sul do sopé dos Balcãs . É administrativamente parte da Província de Plovdiv e tem uma população de cerca de 30.340 (a partir de 2017 ), sendo o prefeito Dr. Emil Kabaivanov.

Наследството ни от двамата братя Христо и Евлоги Георгиеви създали и оставили толкова много след тях, сега просто се руши... за това малко тъга, инак всички се гордеем, гордеем се когато четем за братята, когато слушаме за тях - е и аз се гордея.......
Но пък се гордея и се радвам, че съм роден в град на големи ЧОВЕЦИ......
Град който го е имало, има, и ще продължи да го има - КАРЛОВО!
