Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria and one of the nine states of Austria. Vienna is Austria's primary city, with a population of about 1.8 million (2.6 million within the metropolitan area, nearly one third of Austria's population), and its cultural, economic, and political centre. It is the 7th-largest city by population within city limits in the European Union. To read more about Vienna, click here: .
This film was taken as part of a week long break in central Europe, in which I visited both Bratislava and Vienna, Austria making extensive films of both capital cities, and staying in three different hotels, of which I also made full video reviews. Inside the dome of St Charles’s church Vienna | In der Kuppel der Karlskirche Wien
Join in for a tour with the panoramic elevator up to a 32m high platform for a detailed visit of the dome of the Wiener Karlskirche (St. Charles's Church). Then up the stairs by foot to the lantern for a spectacular panorama over Vienna, Austria.
Dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, this baroque church was built from 1716 -1737 by Johan Bernhard Fischer von Erlach.
Visited in April 2017, the elevator and platform have since been altered and the glass in the lantern changed so I’m not sure if the experience is still the same as shown in this video.
But it’s definitely worth a visit.
Music: Antonio Vivaldi - Gloria

Vienna, Austria - Karlskirche (St. Charles's Church) HD (2013)
Karlskirche (St. Charles's Church) is a baroque church located on the south side of Karlsplatz in Vienna, Austria. Widely considered the most outstanding baroque church in Vienna, as well as one of the city's greatest buildings, Karlskirche is dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, one of the great reformers of the sixteenth century.
Located on the edge of the Innere Stadt, approximately 200 meters outside the Ringstraße, Karlskirche contains a dome in the form of an elongated ellipsoid. Since Karlsplatz was restored as an ensemble in the late 1980s, Karlskirche has garnered fame due to its dome and its two flanking columns of bas-reliefs, as well as its role as an architectural counterweight to the buildings of the Musikverein and of the Vienna University of Technology. The church is cared for by a religious order, the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star, and has long been the parish church as well as the seat of the Catholic student ministry of the Vienna University of Technology.

Incredible frescoes on the ceiling you could almost touch after climbing the scaffolding to the top. Enjoy the ride down in a glass enclosed elevator. Exhilarating and exciting.
