日本三大稲荷の一つ「笠間稲荷神社」は､1340年以上の歴史があり、関東はもとより日本各地から年間350万人以上の参拝客が訪れます。
「笠間の菊まつり」は今年で112回目を迎える歴史ある菊の祭典です。
笠間稲荷神社を主会場に約１万鉢の菊が境内や市内に咲き誇ります。
笠間稲荷神社では御本殿裏の菊人形展会場でNHK大河ドラマ「いだてん」の名場面10景を菊人形で再現した恒例の菊人形展が開催されていました。

Kasama Inari Shrine(笠間稲荷神社), one of Japan's three major inari shrines, has a history of more than 1340 years, and attracts more than 3.5 million worshipers annually from the Kanto region and various parts of Japan.
The Kasama Chrysanthemum Festival(笠間の菊まつり) is the 112th annual chrysanthemum festival this year.
Kasama Inari Shrine is the main venue and about 10,000 bowls of chrysanthemums bloom in the precincts and Kasama city.
At the Kasama Inari Shrine, an annual chrysanthemum doll exhibition was held at the chrysanthemum doll exhibition venue in the back of the main hall, where ten famous scenes of the NHK taiga drama Idaten(いだてん) were reproduced with chrysanthemum dolls.

撮影：2011年11月5日、笠間の菊まつり「かさま・菊あかり回廊」菊まつりとしては国内で有数の古い菊の祭典で、100年以上の歴史があり、明治４１年（１９０８年）に先々代宮司の塙嘉一郎が、日露戦争によって荒廃した人々の心をなごめようと、「大地に親しむこと」と「菊花は人の心を和める」との 思いから神社に農園部を開園し、菊花を境内に展示したことが始まり。笠間稲荷神社の菊を世界に知らしめた。 今では茨城県の秋を代表する風物詩。境内各所には立ち菊、懸崖菊、千輪咲き、盆栽菊など約８０００鉢の菊花がところ狭しと展示される。また２日間だけ「かさま・菊あかり回廊」が開催され、境内では竹等を使った灯りが楽しめる。また商店街や「竹の小径」などでも幻想的な灯りが楽しめる。

Kasama Kiku Matsuri (Chrysanthemum Festival) has been held since 1908 when the then chief priest of Kasama Inari Shrine made a farm section in the shrine to comfort people's desolated mind due to the Russo-Japanese War. At that time, the name of the festival was Kasama Inari Shrine Kiku Matsuri (Chrysanthemum Festival).However, we have changed the name to Kasama Kiku Matsuri (Chrysanthemum Festival) because this festival stands for autumn event in Ibaraki now and we hope that this festival continues to future generation.There are approx. 8,000 pots ＆ chrysanthemum dolls of chrysanthemum in the precincts. People enjoy the colorful flowers with sweet smell and have relaxing time.
