Jammu-Udhampur Highway Film
Jammu Udhampur highway is the national highway and the road in Jammu and Kashmir that connects municipal committee of Udhampur with Jammu City. The highway is 64 kilometres long passing through lofty mountain terrains. The highway also provides road link which connects Katra with rest of India. The highway is the small part of Srinagar Jammu National Highway.
The highway is in the process of major reconstruction. The task is being carried out by National Highway Authority of India funded by Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The whole highway is being rebuilt as four lane road with better bitumen pavement, new traffic sign boards, foot paths, tax toll offices, traffic signals, introduction of new tunnels with minimum number of road curves which would not only provide comfort to the passengers but would also reduce distance between Udhampur and Jammu to certain extent.

Kashmir Travel Doc - Part 05
Kashmir (Balti: کشمیر; Poonchi/Chibhali: کشمیر; Dogri: कश्मीर; Kashmiri: कॅशीर, کٔشِیر; Shina: کشمیر; Uyghur: كھسىمڭر) is the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent. Until the mid-19th century, the term Kashmir referred only to the valley lying between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal range; since then, it has been used for a larger area that today includes the Indian-administered state of Jammu and Kashmir consisting of the Kashmir valley, Jammu and Ladakh; the Pakistani-administered provinces of the Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir, and the Chinese-administered region of Aksai Chin.
In the first half of the first millennium, Kashmir became an important centre of Hinduism and later of Buddhism; later still, in the ninth century, Kashmir Shaivism arose in the region. In 1349, Shah Mirza became the first Muslim ruler of Kashmir and inaugurated the line Salatin-i-Kashmir. For the next five centuries Kashmir had Muslim monarchs, including the Mughals, who ruled until 1751, and thereafter, the Afghan Durranis, who ruled until 1820. That year, the Sikhs under Ranjit Singh, annexed Kashmir. In 1846, upon the purchase of the region from the British under the Treaty of Amritsar, the Dogras—under Gulab Singh—became the new rulers. Dogra Rule, under the paramountcy (or tutelage) of the British Crown, lasted until 1947, when the former princely state became a disputed territory, now administered by three countries: India, Pakistan, and the People's Republic of China.

Analysis: What do Indians think of removal of Kashmir's special status?
Despite criticism and protests against India's removal of Kashmir's autonomy, a large part of the opposition is siding with the government as is the public, reports Al Jazeera's correspondent Faiz Jamil from New Delhi.
There seems to be broad consensus among political parties and sectors of the public that doing away with the special status of Kashmir and other regions is a positive step, he adds. It is widely expected that there will be legal challenges as soon as the bill is passed.
Kamal Hyder, reporting live from Pakistan-administered Kashmir, says many people in Pakistan are concerned about their relatives in the valley as the heavy presence of Indian military may lead to more “bloodshed and violence”.

Exploring Udaipur I Udaipur Vlog day 1 I Best places for food I City Palace,Fateh sagar Lake etc. I
Hi People,
I visited Udaipur - City of Lakes. Without any doubt, I can say that this is one of the beautiful city one can ever visit.
About Udaipur:
Udaipur, also known as the City of Lakes, is a city in the state of Rajasthan in India. It is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency. It was founded in 1558 by Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajput, when he shifted his capital from the city of Chittorgarh to Udaipur after Chittorgarh was besieged by Akbar. It remained as the capital city till 1818 when it became a British princely state, and thereafter the Mewar province became a part of Rajasthan when India gained.
It’s set around a series of artificial lakes and is known for its lavish royal residences. City Palace, overlooking Lake Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces, courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate peacock mosaics.
How to Reach:
By Air:
The city has its own domestic airport, which is 22 km away from the center of the city. The Maharana Pratap airport gets flights from numerous destinations in India like Mumbai, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi, Hyderabad and others. If you are travelling from an international location, choose to enter India via Delhi or Mumbai airport. Although the nearest international airport is located in Jaipur (Rajasthan)
By Train
The local railway station is located inside the city limits. The Udaipur railway station is connected with almost all cities of Rajasthan and with important cities around the country.
By Bus:
Udaipur bus stand is located inside the city. You can find regular buses from many cities inside Rajasthan and numerous top cities around the country. Buses run to and fro throughout the day. You can find both private and public buses with varying luxury level. The frequency and demand for buses depend on the season.
In this video, I showed up all the places i visited on my very first day i.e. City Palace Museum,Jag Mandir, Fateh Sagar Lake.
1. City palace museum is all about history of Maharanas of Mewar.
City Palace, Udaipur, is a palace complex situated in the city of Udaipur, Rajasthan. It was built over a period of nearly 400 years, with contributions from several rulers of the Mewar dynasty. Its construction began in 1553, started by Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia Rajput family as he shifted his capital from the erstwhile Chittor to the new found city of Udaipur.[1] The palace is located on the east bank of Lake Pichola and has several palaces built within its complex.
2. Jag Mandir is indeed a beautiful palace on Lake Pichola. You can even book your stay prior visiting.
Jag Mandir is a palace built on an island in the Lake Pichola. It is also called the Lake Garden Palace. The palace is located in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Its construction is credited to three Maharanas of the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar kingdom. The construction of the palace was started in 1551 by Maharana Amar Singh, continued by Maharana Karan Singh (1620–1628) and finally completed by Maharana Jagat Singh I (1628–1652). It is named as Jagat Mandir in honour of the last named Maharana Jagat Singh. The royal family used the palace as a summer resort and pleasure palace for holding parties. The palace served as a refuge to asylum seekers on two separate occasions.
3. Fateh Sagar Lake- Perfect spot to spend hours and witness beautiful sunset.
About Fateh Sagar Lake:
It is an artificial lake named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar, constructed north-west of Udaipur, to the north of Lake Pichola in the 1680s.
Within the confines of the Fatah Sagar Lake, there are three small islands; the largest of these is the Nehru Park, which is a popular tourist attraction, the second island houses a public park with an impressive water-jet fountain, and the third island is the address for the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO). The Nehru park is accessible by inboard motor boats. The blue waters of the lake and the backdrop of the green mountains has given the soubriquet of ‘the second Kashmir’ to Udaipur.
. I have shared my live food orgasm in my video.
