Betaab valley is situated at a distance of 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Anantnag district in India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. The valley got its name from the Sunny Deol-Amrita Singh hit debut film Betaab.The Valley is towards northeast of Pahalgam and falls between Pahalgam and Chandanwadi and is en route Amarnath Temple Yatra. The valley surrounded by lush green meadows, snow clad mountains and covered with dense vegetation.
Betab Valley is a very popular touristic destination. Betaab Valley is also a favorite campsite of travelers as it also serves as a base camp for trekking and further exploration of the mountains. The valley is a walk-able distance from Pahalgam. The crystal clear & chilly water of the stream bubbling down from the snowy hills is a delight; locals here drink this water too. Baisaran and Tulian Lake are few nearby attractions that can be visited.

We stayed 4 ( 3 nights) days in Kashmir in February 2018.We hired a 7 seater vehicle which costed around 14K.Accomodation cost around 2K per night.

Srinagar is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the Kashmir Valley on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and Dal and Anchar lakes.
Srinagar is one of several places that have been called the Venice of the East.Lakes around the city include Dal Lake – noted for its houseboats – and Nigeen Lake. Apart from Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake, Wular Lake and Manasbal Lake both lie to the north of Srinagar. Wular Lake is one of the largest fresh water lakes in Asia.
GULMARG

Gulmarg lies in a cup shaped valley in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, at an altitude of 2,650 m (8,694 ft), 56 km from Srinagar.One of the most scenic areas in the world, but sadly not popular among tourist due to political reasons.
Gulmarg is the heartland of winter sports in India and was rated as Asia's seventh best ski destination. The town is accessible from Srinagar by road via Tangmarg.
Gulmarg Gondola,Built by the French company Pomagalski, the Gulmarg Gondola is one of the highest in the world reaching 3,979 meters.
The Roman Catholic St Mary's Church is located in the valley of Shepherds in Gulmarg. It was built in 1902, during the period of British rule, and was constructed in a British style. Made of grey brick with a green roof and decorated wooden interior walls, it has been described as a Victorian architectural wonder.

Pahalgam is a very popular tourist destination of Jammu & Kashmir and it is situated in the Anantnath district on the bank of the river Lidder. It is also called the ‘Valley of Shepherds’ and is known for its picturesque landscapes. During winter it gets covered with snow and in summer it looks green. It is truly a beautiful hill station and it had been the shooting location of many Bollywood movies too. Pahalgam is also the starting point of the Amarnath yatra.

We Hired a cab for our entire stay in Kashmir, that was 3 nights and 4 days, and the fare was Rs 7500 including Driver allowances, parkings, Tolls.
We Booked our cab from Newgen Tours and Travels.
The Horse Riding guys quote a very hiked price so always try and bargain with them. However the prices of the cabs to visit internal tourist points in Pahalgam are fixed.

Patnitop is the very beatiful hill station of Jammu, Kashmir, India: It takes around 4-5 hours to reach there from Jammu. Full of Pine trees and beautiful surroundings. As told by a local person you get snow for 6 months and remaining 6 months is full of greenery.
Shivkhori is famous cave shrines. It is 1 day road trip from katra. You easily get bus facility to rach shivkhori. It is located in village Ransoo. It is 3 KM from Ransoo village base camp to reach main temple. This cave has magical presence of lord shiva family (parvati maa and Ganesh ji), Lord Ram , Mata Sita, Hanuman Ji, and maa Kali, Maa Duga and many more. Pujari ji says there was a way to reach amaranth cave from shivhodi cave.
Srinagr is capital of jammu and Kashmir and can be considered as a base camp for tourists what wants to explore places like pahalgam, patnitop, gulmarg, sonmarg, katra, shiv khori,
Shrinagar is famous for dal lake (lot of film shooting ), Shalimar Gardens, Dal Lake. Shalimar, Nishat and Chashm-e-Shahi constitute the famous Mughal Gardens of Srinagar. Lots of Cricket Bat factories are there. Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is one of the recent additions to the multitude of tourist attractions in Srinagar. Lots of apple gardens.
Dal Lake is famous tourist spot and know for shikara ride, house boats and floating market for food, cloths , vegetables and many more other things.

Aru Valley, Pahalgam, Srinagar, Kashmir, India: If Kashmir is Known as Paradise then Pahalgam is its Capital. Aru Valley is one of the most important tourist attraction of Pahalgam, Anantanag, Kashmir. Aru valley is situated at a distance of 95 km from Srinagar and 12 kilometer from Pahalgam. Aru valley is the shooting location of the famous hindi Indian movie Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The snow capped peaks og the Himalayas at the background makes the Aru valley more senic. This video is a collection of photos from my second visit to Pahalgam in 2005. It's one of my favorite places; the people are beautiful and the landscape is gorgeous.
The Kashmiris are dying for their freedom (azad), yet a resolution seems a long way off. Neither India nor Pakistan want to relinquish their stronghold on a state that wants to be independent from both countries decades old politics, which many feel are related to water rights. Fighting in the region has worsened since the Mumbai attacks.
I hope to return to Pahalgam one day and gift these amazing people with their portraits!
