How To Visit A Shrine In Japan // Kashihara Shrine, Nara
Want to know the proper etiquette and behaviour for visiting a sacred Shrine in Japan. Here's what to expect, how to act and some quick tips for visiting a Japanese shrine. I visited 3 Shrines here in the Nara Prefecture over the past few days and here's what I learned about the difference between a Shrine and a Temple, what the different amulets and holy arrows stand for and of course how to properly worship inside a shrine.
The shrine in the video is Kashihara Shrine in Nara Prefecture. Thanks to Visit Nara for organizing.

About flying drones in Tokyo:
(While I mentioned that you can't fly in Tokyo, it is still possible to fly a drone in Tokyo as long as you have the permits. I suggest that if you want to fly your drone in Tokyo, go do a bit more research. You also probably need to plan your flights, as well as getting the permits ahead of time!)

Exploring Nara, Japan [THE DEER PREFECTURE] |Day 60 - Nara
Nara prefecture is in the Kansai region of Japan near Kyoto and Osaka. The prefectural capital Nara City is home to eight temples, shrines, and ruins from the ancient first capital of Japan: Todai-ji, Saidai-ji, Kofuku-ji, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Gango-ji, Yakushi-ji, Toshodai-ji, and the Heijo Palace, together with Kasugayama Primeval Forest. These inspiring sites collectively form the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara” a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nara is also famous for its furry ambassadors, the tame deer who roam through the town, especially in Nara Park. Snack vendors sell “shika sembei” (deer biscuits) to visitors so they can feed the deer.

Japan Trip: the Treasures from the Sea at Katsuura, Wakayama 09
Japan Trip: the Treasures from the Sea at Katsuura, Wakayama 09
Visitors to Katsuura, a town on the southeastern coast of the Kii Peninsula in Wakayama Prefecture, will be in for treat. This town is best known for its onsen (hot springs) and its fishing industry.
As an onsen resort town along the sea, Katsuura is characterized by several hotels dotting the coastline. The onsen hotels house restaurants, shops, numerous onsen baths, karaoke establishments as well as bars, izakaya, and so much more. There are several walking trails as well as places to explore.
Of the many onsen hotels, the Urashima Hotel and Nakanoshima Hotel are especially famous for their unique baths. Both hotels can only be accessed via boats and have unique baths. Urashima Hotel owns the Bokido Bath, a bath inside a cave. Nakanoshima Hotel is located on its own private island. Nakanoshima Hotel’s outdoor baths have the most spectacular views of the sea and coast. Visitors not spending the night at the hotel can experience both baths, as both hotels allow non-staying guests to use the baths for a small fee.
Being on the coast, it is only appropriate that the Katsuura has a large stake in the fishing industry. However, visitors may be pleased to know, Katsuura’s main fish is the tuna, with the town hosting an impressive, early morning fish market that showcases this catch. Large tuna are auctioned off in a manner similar to Tsukiji market in Tokyo. However, please note, Katsuura's fish market is much smaller than Tokyo.
Katsuura and the Kii Peninsula are also known for their whaling culture. Visitor may wish to go to nearby Taiji, where there is a whale museum. The museum displays information on whales as well as whale hunt from both historical and modern points of view. Whale meat can be purchased in the museum gift shop as well in the local restaurants.

上七軒の盆踊り 2019 : Bon Odori festival at Kamishichiken(Kyoto, Japan)
2019年8月11日、上七軒で開催されました、盆踊りを撮影いたしました。夕暮れ時の上七軒は盆踊りの長い列と相まって幻想的な雰囲気でした。
Bon Odori (Japanese: 盆踊り), meaning simply Bon dance, is a style of dancing performed during Obon. Originally a Nenbutsu folk dance to welcome the spirits of the dead, the style of celebration varies in many aspects from region to region. Each region has a local dance, as well as different music. The music can be songs specifically pertinent to the spiritual message of Obon, or local min'yō folk songs. Consequently, the Bon dance will look and sound different from region to region.
藤の花 Japanese wisteria 藤井寺(The 11th temple of 88 temples of Shikoku Pilgrimage 2017.04.27
I visited The 11th temple (Fujiidera-temple) of 88 temples of Shikoku Pilgrimage, which is famous for its wisteria blossoms to take pictures of them.
It is reported to be called as Fujiidera-temple by the history that the Buddhism Great Leader (Kouboudaishi) planted five colors of wisteria (called Fuji) in the precincts
after having prayed for the casting out of evil spirits.

〖4K〗Walking through Gokurakuji Temple on the Shikoku Pilgrimage | Rural Japan
Temple: Gokurakuji (The Temple of the Pure Land)
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
Not a vlog. Raw video filmed on GH5S during my 39 day, 2060km walk around Shikoku, Japan. The Shikoku Pilgrimage consists of 88 temples in which you follow the path of the founder of Esoteric Buddhism, Kōbō Daishi. One lap around this route spans approximately 1200km. There is also another route of 20 Bekkaku Temples that also loops around the island which make the distance closer to 1600km (without detours).
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰
This is temple 2 of the Shikoku Pilgrimage. Gokurakuji is located in the capital of Tokushima. The temple was said to have been founded by Gyōgi in the 8th century but historical evidence seems to point to its construction during the Kamakura Period (13th century). According to legend, long ago, it was difficult for fishermen in Naruto Bay to catch enough fish to earn a living because the bright light from the honzon's halo reached all the way to the Bay and frightened the fish. To prevent this, the local fishermen built a small artificial hill between the bay and the Honzon image in order to block the light. The hill came to be known as the Sun Light Mountain (Nisshōzan).
