MY REVIEW -
Waradah Australian Centre houses the antiques of the Waradah Aboriginals showcasing the world of this tribe which is in the heart of Australia. The center also runs the shows of the Waradah Aboriginals. This show at Echo Point costs AUD 25 for adults and AUD 17.50 for children but with Grayline Tours we got the tickets for 18 and 12 AUD respectively. Amazing slow show of about 30 minutes showcasing history of blue mountains and Australia. Quite an informative show. It was our first time seeing such a show. Wonder how people used to be in those days. One can imagine the vast difference between those days and these days. It was well done and presented in a fantastic way. Also it was so good to know the stories relating to the formation of Australia and the importance of Blue Mountains.

Katoomba is the largest and best-known town in the Blue Mountains region of the Australian state of New South Wales. Katoomba is located 106 km (66 miles) to the west of Sydney and lies 1,017 m (3,337 ft) above sea level.
A vibrant and historic town at the heart of the Blue Mountains, Katoomba spoils its guests with spectacular walks and lookouts, rich cultural heritage and great restaurants and bars. Just 90 minutes by car from Sydney, this scenic getaway is famous for its dramatic views of the Three Sisters and Jamison Valley.
On the edge of the cliffs at Echo Point, the iconic Three Sisters defy the elements, standing proudly over the awesome scale of ancient wonder below. Enjoy world-class views at Scenic World, where the Scenic Skyway takes a glass-floored journey over the valley and the Scenic Railway descends to ancient Jurassic rainforest.
Katoomba developed as a popular mountain resort town in the early part of the 20th century, a process aided by the advent of regular train services along the current line. The town reached an early heyday in the period between the wars, attested to today by the numerous examples of art deco architecture and shop fronts along the main street of the town.
Transport for NSW subcontracts some public bus routes to the Blue Mountains Transport Company - including Route 686 that goes from Katoomba Street to Echo Point (Three Sisters) and Scenic World. The trip is charged at regular Opal card fares. The Blue Mountains Bus Company's Route 686 also brings you to various tourist attractions.
There are many ways to explore the sensational views around the town:

Amazing town of Leura in Australia
Leura's elevation of 985 metres (3,232 ft) AHD leads to occasional snowfall in winter and a climate that reflects all four seasons distinctly.
The village centre lies on Leura Mall which is divided at this point by a wide grassy median strip planted with flowering cherry trees. The historic streetscape has been largely preserved, although there was local concern regarding the development of a shopping complex on the site of a former distribution warehouse. Redesigned to better suit the Leura Mall ambience after consultations with the wider community, the new shopping complex is now complete, hosting a Woolworths supermarket and liquor store. The historic post office building is now home to a news agency. The Alexandra Hotel, not far from the railway station, offers panoramic views from its back veranda. There are a substantial number of restaurants, cafes and coffee shops along Leura Mall, among the boutiques, gift and antique shops.
Leura is home to many formal, English-style, cool-climate gardens, which provide elegant walks and the opportunity to visit when open to the public in early October each year.
In 2016, Leura was named in the list of top 50 most irresistible, exotic, historic and postcard-worthy small towns in Australia.
Blue Mountains Location
The Blue Mountains location form part of the Great Dividing Range which is located just west of Sydney. The road takes you through beautiful historic towns and antique shops. It is worth stopping often in this part of New South Wales as the scenery is truly breathtaking. Australia Katoomba Falls
Katoomba's main industry is tourism based on scenic mountain scenery. The rock formation known as the Three Sisters, viewable from Echo Point about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the main town, is the most famous feature, and attracts some four million visitors each year. Other features of the Jamison Valley visible from Echo Point include Mount Solitary and the rock formation known as the Ruined Castle. A short walk from Echo Point leads to The Giant Stairway which provides access to a number of nature walks through the Valley. Some of these are quite rugged and not recommended for inexperienced walkers. Several of the Jamison Valley tracks including the Stairway itself were closed in recent years due to maintenance, but most have since been re-opened.[5] The local geography includes extensive areas of dense sub-tropical rainforest, hanging swamps and a series of spectacular waterfalls (albeit with a relatively low water volume).
Other attractions include Scenic World, a tourist complex in the southwest of the town. This site is home to the steepest funicular railway in the world, the Katoomba Scenic Railway, which was originally built to facilitate coal and oil shale mining in the Jamison Valley. Scenic World also offers the Scenic Skyway cable car, which travels over an arm of the Jamison Valley and offers views of Katoomba Falls and Orphan Rock. In 2004 the original Skyway car was replaced by a new car with a liquid crystal panel floor, which abruptly becomes transparent while the car travels. In 1983 construction began at the site on a rollercoaster called the Orphan Rocker; the track was completed, but this attraction has never been opened to the public.
Katoomba is well-served by hotels and guest-houses, the oldest and most prominent of which is the Carrington Hotel, established in 1882 and occupying the highest point in town. The nearby village of Leura also features numerous well-appointed hotels and health spas and Medlow Bath boasts the grand Hydro Majestic Hotel, originally built in 1891 and currently closed for renovations since 2009. The Five Star Lilianfels at Echo Point is home to Darley's Restaurant, which has been rated with two Chef Hats. The busy town centre, centered on Katoomba Street, features dozens of cafes and restaurants, including the Paragon which dates to the early 20th century, as well as a number of second-hand book and antique stores.
Climate
Climate in the Blue Mountains region varies with height, but generally Katoomba falls within the criteria of a subtropical highland climate (Köppen climate classification Cfb).[citation needed] At Katoomba (1030m), summer daytime temperatures are usually in the low 20s, with a few rare days extending into the 30s (Celsius). Night- time temperatures are usually in the low teens. In winter the temperature is typically about 10 °C in the daytime with 0°C or so on clear nights and 3 to 4 °C on cloudy nights. There are two to three settled snowfalls per year. Katoomba is quite wet all year round; the annual rainfall is about 1,400 millimetres (55 in) [6] with many misty days. Temperatures are on average 7°C lower than Sydney.
The Blue Mountains has a reputation for snow in winter. However, despite the cool temperatures, there are only around five snowy days per year in the upper mountains area. It is extremely rare to see snow below Lawson. It is not unusual to see white blankets of frost covering the ground in the early morning hours. In the evening, thick coverings of ice can form on car windscreens.
Several significant snowfalls have been recorded since 1900, the most significant on 5 July 1900, when snowdrifts were over six feet deep in parts of the Blue Mountains. The snow and ice caused significant problems throughout Central New South Wales, with rail and road closures, damage to buildings, and disruption to telegraph services. A significant winter storm on 18 July 1965 also produced very heavy snow and ice in the area, with damage to buildings and major difficulties with road and rail transport.
