Nida, Lithuania - Exploring the Curonian Spit sand dunes and beach to the Russian border!
Virtual Tour:
Follow me as I explore the colorful village of Nida, Lithuania and above all the majestic sand dunes of the Curonian Spit.
The itinerary I am following is a loop starting and ending in Nida, first going up the dune to the top and the viewpoint. Then, I follow the road to the campground and the immense beach on the Baltic sea.
After walking to the border with Kaliningrad (Russia), I walk back to the sand dunes to explore them more extensively, until reaching the Curoninan Lagoon again. Finally, I just need to follow this shore all the way back to Nida.
It's a nice walk that will show you most landscapes of the Curoninan Spit, easy to do in a day.
I recommend walking up the dune to the view point in the morning, as the light is the most beautiful at this time - The sun is shining on the waters of the Curoninan Lagoon.

E-learning: Determination of substrates pH // Subtratų pH nustatymas Dubravos apyrubėje
Title of the lesson: Determination of substrates pH
Chemistry lesson was prepared while developing Erasmus+KA2 international project's E-Learning from Nature outcomes. In real lesson was organized in Regional Park of Kaunas Lagoon. Physics teacher from Kaunas Juozas Grušas Art Gymnasium present the outcomes and the process.
- The contents of the lesson:
The students were divided into three groups (5-6 students in a group). The first group of students made a research on forest substrates, the second group studied marsh substrates, and the third group of students searched for plants that grow in acidic medium of high moor.
After having completed the tasks, the students had to present them, summarize, compare the results and make conclusions.
- The learning objective: To investigate the pH of the substrates of high moor and to find plants-phytoindicators by using pH measuring apparatus and chemical indicators.
