Kaungmudaw Pagoda
Kaungmudaw Pagoda, also called Yaza Mani Sula, is a huge pagoda 10km beyond the town of Sagaing in central Myanmar. It was built by King Thalun and his son in A.D 1636. The dome shaped pagoda rises up to 46 meters. At the base of the pagoda, there are 812 stone pillars, each one with a hollow and an image of a Nat in it. It was modeled after the Mahaceti Pagoda in Sri Lank. The stupa enshrined the Buddhist relics inside its relic chamber. The pagoda dome had been continuously painted white to signify purity but now gilded with gold. It is one of the famous pilgrimage and tourist destinations in the Sagaing area.

ROADTRIP to SAGAING Kaungmudaw Pagoda the Breast-Shaped Pagoda
SAGAING, MYANMAR---Five miles northwest of central Sagaing, Kaunghmudaw Paya is a vast gilded pudding of a stupa rising 150ft high. It was built in 1636 to commemorate Inwa’s re-establishment as the royal capital. According to local tradition, the king agonised interminably over how to shape the stupa. His queen, tired of hubby’s indecisiveness, ripped open her blouse and, pointing to her breast, said: ‘Make it like this!’ Come to Mandalay and drive to Sagaing to have a peek of this beautiful breast-shaped pagoda.

Glass mosaic @Kaunghmudaw Pagoda
Apart from the beautiful teak wood temples, another kind of temples which are worth to be visited, are those decorated with glass mosaic.
It's not uncommon to find such temples with walls and pillars all covered by glasses mosaic in Mandalay. Once I saw one of them fully covered even in exterior too!

Kaung Hmudaw Paya Zay (pagoda market)
Kaung Hmudaw Paya or Royal Merit Pagoda at Sagaing, near Mandalay, Myanmar (Burma), was built by King Thalun in1636, a unique dome-shaped stupa said to have been modelled after the perfect breast of his queen. It's festival time and villagers around the region have set up shop outside the perimeter wall selling traditional products such as handwoven bamboo and palmleaf baskets, trays, mats and hats, hardware utensils such as sickle blades, machetes, knives and scissors, scales, mortars and pestles, crockery, and even pagoda bells.
Inside, on the terrace itself, one can perambulate clockwise in the customary manner, to browse leisurely along the stalls set up in the cool shade of trees offering more traditional goods and products such as thanaka cosmetic tree bark (Murraya exotica), stones for grinding the bark into a creamy paste, cotton blankets and napkins, beads and knick-knacks, local snacks, handmade toys, both earthernware and papier mache, with a few food stalls dotted among them.

The people ,the culture, the food: Let me show you Myanmar!
At the end of the Second Anglo-Burmese war, Myanmar and British toll-posts were situated on Akauk Taung, a toll-hill in Myanmar language side by side. All boatmen had to pay tax to both posts. All sailing boats anchored close by the hill and waited till occasionally a week-long whirlpool ceased. The sailors prayed to God by carving Buddha images on the steep cliffside during that period. The mountain was named for the crafty toll-takers from the mid 19th Century.
Akauk Taung Mountain still stands on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River to the north of Pyay in Bago Region. It takes 15 minutes by boat sailing along the Ayeyarwaddy river to reach the Akauk Taung. Tourist can take remarkable photographs only from the boat which is in the middle of Ayeyarwaddy river.
