Nikko/Kinugawa Tourism Promotion Tour
Kinugawa Onsen (Kinugawa Hot Spring) is renowned as a resort in Nikko, the closest world heritage site to Tokyo. We planned a tour to invite a total of 60 people including ambassadors, embassy staff, and their family members from 20 countries who reside in Tokyo.
The purpose of this tour is to promote the attractions of Kinugawa Onsen and Nikko, which is a world heritage site, and we hope to spread its popularity to the world at the same time.

Ryuokyo station on Aizu Kinugawa line, operated by Yagan Railway is the gateway to Ryuokyo valley. The valley belongs to Nikko National Park and it is a popular tourist destination especially during autumn.

Ryuokyo Valley is an amazing ravine between Kawaji Onsen and Kinugawa Onsen spa areas. The water color changes from white, to blue to purple, and the stream meanders like a violent dragon’s body. Because of this color and shape, it is called the Valley of the Dragon King. Source :

A Hike Through the Woods
Before returning to the National Youth Olympic Center, we stopped at Ryuokyo Canyon. This canyon had two bridges; so before going to the first one (where everyone stayed), I traveled the less travel path and visited the second bridge. The views on my hike were stunning and the water was very blue.
