Whangarei Hundertwasser Art Centre Project unveiling

The Hundertwasser Art Centre model was unveiled to a group of invited guests at a dawn ceremony today.
About 40 people, including representatives of Kawakawa's Hundertwasser trust, Whangarei District councillors and staff, NZ Hundertwasser Foundation Representative Richard Smart and Labour MP Kelvin Davis, gathered at the former Northland Harbour Board building for the first public viewing of the model.
Following a Maori blessing by Ngati Rehia kaumatua, councillors Kahu Sutherland and Phil Halse welcomed the guests and spoke about the project.

Viewing of the Hundertwasser Art Centre Project Model and site - 30 May to 10 June 2011. Whangarei District Council is inviting any groups in the community to come to the Old Northland Harbour Board Building to view the Hundertwasser Art Centre Project Model and look around the building which will be turned into the Hundertwasser Art Centre. This time will be available from 30 May -- 10 June 2011.
After this time the Model will be transferred to the Library where it will be available for public viewing.
If you are interested in viewing this please let Jan Walters know so she can arrange a time. If you know of others interested, please ask them to contact her.
