We are almost ready to open for the season! Come visit us in Buckhorn Ontario, the heart of the Kawarthas. Grab a tube at the visitor centre in Buckhorn, drive 3 mins north. One of our staff members will meet you to provide a life jacket and then get ready to ROCK! At the end of the 1 Km ride, take a swim, and have the kids complete a scavenger hunt. Hey guys! So I accidentally deleted this video and had to re-upload... Don't worry, I'll upload two today! This is us tubing in the Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park! We had tons of fun despite a few bumps in the road and hope you enjoy!

Wilderness river tubing ride is like stepping back in time!

There is a quiet little river north of Peterborough, Ontario, where the adventurous can go for an unforgettable experience. Gentle rapids, mixed with lazy and meandering stretches of slowly drifting water take sight seers on a 30 minute ride through some of the most gorgeous forest imaginable. The pristine setting is free of signs, litter, buildings or anything else man made. This is a stretch of river that appears almost exactly as it did back when Canada was first inhabited. Aside from a small wooden bridge, there isn't a sign of civilization. Tubers embark on a journey that moves at the perfect pace through wild country where they can enjoy nature as it is meant to be. They might even see a deer or other wildlife. An easy walk back along a natural trail through the forest provides another close look at nature.

Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park: Early Morning Scenes on the Mississagua River

Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park is located northwest of Buckhorn, Ontario. The section shown in the video, featuring scenes of the Mississagua River, is at the southernmost part of the park, just off highway 36 between Bobcaygeon and Buckhorn. This is the only section, to date, with established trails.

The Mississagua River, also known as the Mississauga River, empties a short distance downstream into Buckhorn Lake. Buckhorn is part of the Kawartha Lakes and is also part of the Trent Severn Waterway.

The river is used as a waterway for paddlers (canoe and kayak). For a short time a few years ago, it was used by a renegade company offering tubing excursions. The short waterfall seen during the video is a great place to cool off and go for a dip in the summer time.
