A 45 minute walk around the shopping and entertainment districts around Kawasaki Station.
Kawasaki is a city of roughly 1,5 million residents located in Kanagawa Prefecture, just south of the Japanese capital. In fact, it only takes about 20 minutes by train to travel here from central Tokyo.
Filmed in June 2018 with a LG V20 mounted on a DJI Osmo Mobile 2. 4K / Ultra HD resolution.

Walking in central Kawasaki, Japan - 4K 60FPS
Kawasaki is a city of roughly 1,5 million residents located in Kanagawa Prefecture. In fact, it only takes about 20 minutes by train to travel here from central Tokyo.
Kawasaki is sandwiched between Tokyo and Yokohama, the two largest cities in Japan and part of the Greater Tokyo Area - The largest metropolitan area in the world.
In this video I'm exploring some of the shopping and entertainment districts around Kawasaki Station.
While shooting this I realized that I really need to come back here again at night soon. During the daytime this is not the most exciting place in Japan, but it has the potential to be very pretty once its lit up. Rest assured that such a video will be coming soon.
This was filmed in November 2018 with a Fujifilm X-T3 in 4K 60FPS. The lens used is a Laowa 9mm f2.8, and the camera was mounted on a Zhiyun Crane for stability.

Daishi Nakamise Street - Kawasaki ● 大師 仲見世 川崎
► Daishi Nakamise Street is an exciting market-style walking street, selling all kinds of foods, snacks, drinks and religious related items ( - as the streets leads to the Kawasaki Daishi Temple.) - This street is just so Japan in every way, the sights, the sounds, the smell.
It's a fun and lively place to visit, with so much going on, especially on weekends. If huge crowds isn't your cup of tea, try visiting on a normal weekday, then the amount of visitors will be 5% of what you see in this video. On the other hand, in my opinion, the big crowds are part of the experience - so man up, and go for it.

On August 6th we had the chance to attend the Sannosai Festival in Kawasaki, where we tried out some delicious typical Japanese Festival Street Food. Although the quality is not super gourmet, it is perfect comfort food that will help you survive through a hot summer day.
This festival starts early in the morning from 9AM and end around 9PM and there are a ton of fun activities and things to do. Here is a list of the foods we got to try:

I learned the Japanese language for 5 years with flatmates in Auckland, New Zealand.
All of those wonderful people I met had to return to Japan after one year in New Zealand.
So when I went to Japan I could stay with some of those friends and flatmates.
Yokohama was a big busy exciting night-life city.
Ito was a small quiet fishing village with a lovely local art gallery tour bus experience.
There is so much more variety in Japan.
I am definitely going to Japan again!!

Walking in Musashi-Kosugi, Kawasaki, Japan - New Residential Area - 4K 60FPS
Musashi-kosugi is a residential neighbourhood in Kawasaki City, sandwiched between Tokyo and Yokohama, the two largest cities in Japan. It is located close to Tama-river, one of the biggest rivers in the Kanto region.
The area was a silent area seldom heard about until the late 2000s when a large scale redevelopment project took place and several high-rise residential towers transformed the landscape. For a while the rise in property prices around here was immense.
The fact that many important transportation hubs can be reached from here in less than 20 minutes makes it attractive, and a good choice for people working in either Tokyo, Yokohama or central Kawasaki.
These days, the buzz has faded and the area is once again rarely talked about. But I decided to take a look at it with my camera the other night. To be honest, it seemed quite boring. Everything felt new and clean but also quite sterile and soulless. I'm not sure if I personally would enjoy living at a place like this...

Tokyo - Slow TV - An Evening Walk in Japanese Suburbia - Kawasaki - 4K 60FPS
Ever wondered what a typical residential suburban area in Japan is like? Well, there's not one simple answer to that question, but in this video, you'll get a feeling for one of those. This particular walk starts in an area called Kuji, located in Takatsu-Ku, Kawasaki, just a stone's throw away from the southern border of Tokyo.
You'll see a suburban landscape that consists of a mixture of higher multi-apartment buildings as well as plenty of single-family homes. It's very quiet, and not many people around even though this was filmed around 7 pm when most people are coming home from work.
The walk ends close to Mizonokuchi, a slightly more urban neighbourhood where two major train lines, The JR Nanbu Line and the Tokyu Den-En-Toshi-Line meet.
Kawasaki is the eight largest city in Japan and sits sandwiched between Tokyo and Yokohama, the Two largest cities in Japan. It is a part of the Greater Tokyo Area -- the largest megacity in the world with well over 30 million residents.

Kawasaki Daishi Temple ● 川崎大師
► Kawasaki Daishi Temple - also known as Heiken-Ji (平間寺) - is the headquarters of the Chizan Sect of Shingon Buddhism.
It's located 15 minutes outside Kawasaki City, and is a quite interesting place to visit, especially when they are holding a ceremony as the case was on my visit.
At the end of the ceremony, the attendees can get their wallets blessed by the priest over holy smoke to solve their financial problems, or a photo of their loved ones blessed for good luck, love and health and so on..... - Enjoy!

【4K】Walking in Industrial Kawasaki
Not a vlog, no intrusive faces or talking, pure Japan only.
As some people suggested I visited part of Kawasaki city behind Haneda airport. Place was full of strange smells and very noisy. In the end I got to Haneda airport photo spot where many photographers take photos of landing airplanes.
